OT- Womens Bathing Suit

One thing I do is buy a Land's End suit early summer, then at the end of summer I look at the clearance pieces to see if I can add anything that matches. Once I got a seafoam green skirted bottom and the top was white with a design that was the green, orange and dark brown. Then I added a dark brown bottom on clearance to go with the top and a seafoam green top to go with the bottom. I think I paid $8 for the top in December. Now I can mix and match it to 3 different styles.

Lands End!!! I had to buy a few different sizes, but try em on and you can return to a local Sears. Try the Overstock dept too, they usually have some nice mix and matches. I wear a diff size on the bottom than the top so I like separates and you can buy separate skirts etc.

I ordered this swimdress last year from QVC I really like it! It comes in a C cup and up size and you can wear it as a sundress too, it's really cute and comfy!

I have some It Figures from QVC and they hold up well and are flattering. I also have some Lands End bathing suits (one I picked up last year was $6 a piece, so I'm happy with that price).

I agree with all the other PPs about Lands End. I will not buy a bathing suit anywhere else. You will definitely get multiple seasons out of it. My older one is at least 4 years old and still looks great. I'm 5'8", size 10-12, and I've found that the tankinis with the skirted bottom are the most flattering for me.

If you don't need one right now and can wait a few weeks, they will probably have great deals in early to mid-June. The one I bought last year at that time was 40-50% off... I believe it was under $60 for both pieces. If you do need one right now, check out the Overstocks area of their site....the sizes available are pretty limited so you'll probably need to look at almost everything in order to find a coordinating top and bottom. Not sure about one-pieces because I don't look at those.

Whenever I buy online, I just google "Lands End coupons" there are several sites that will tell you what the current promo codes are. Retailmenot.com is one that I've used a lot.

Check out Eddie Bauer too. They have some very flattering suits.

I am pear shaped and I always look best in halter style tankini tops and bikini bottoms. Sounds weird, I know, but the smaller bottoms are more flattering on me. I guess because the eye is drawn to where most of the material is - on top.

I think Eddie Bauer carries the Athena brand. They always fit well and last a long time.

Yup. That is me to a T! Love my lands end suit. My top is very long through the torso and I love the skirt...it is long enough to cover but not too long to look like an old lady suit. Very flattering. It is all I will buy. It has held up great.

I've worn lots of Lands End and agree that they're great suits.

My favorite suits are from Lands' End. I think they even have a high-waist version of a tankini bottom this year, so you might check it out! You can also get some of the tops in Long. Or maybe look at their swimdresses?

Be sure to check with your local Sears store to see if they take returns. Mine didn't, and I was bummed because I had ordered several things to try on but knew I wouldn't keep all of them (ordered different styles to find the best fit). I had to pay return shipping.

Another vote for Lands End! They are pricey but I went through the outlet on the LE website and found swim bottoms and tops for under $19 each.

My strategy is to go to a sporting goods store (Dick's in our neighborhood) and buy swim suits for competitive swimmers. They are usually heavy duty and have nice thick straps, are not revealing and are designed to stay in place. My last couple of swim suits were from NIKE. The benefit of this approach is that sporting goods stores do sometimes have sales or coupons that apply to swim suits.

I am going against the norm but I got a cute SWIMDRESS last summer from Macy's (Nautica). I will be 30 next month and a mom of 3 and like you, I didn't want all my business out for everyone to see. I love this suit. It keeps me covered and I don't have to worry about anything popping out.

Land's End is definitely wonderful, not inexpensive, but they will last a long time. I hate buying swimsuits online though, but there are usually better deals to be found that way. I suggest going to Sears and trying on some of the Land's End suits there. Once you have a good idea of which styles you prefer and what sizes are best, then order online.

before you get your hopes up - not all Sears carry Lands End clothes or suits. Mine doesn't.

I am on the larger size, 5'4" and 224#--size 20. I purchased a really cute top from Lane Bryant that is very colorful and fits well when I hold my shoulders up. Then I purchased a boy swim short from an on line suit company. I do have two It Figures suits from QVC that have held up great.

Then I spent $100 to get a tan...hopefully that will help...alot.

This is our first May trip. I went in a Disney pool once in 2004....gonna break the cycle this year. yep three more days....I hope to be in the AKV-K pool Saturday night...

My sisters like Lands End, but the last two I've ordered from them have been disappointing. They just didn't hold up. Since we go to a pool several times a week during the season I like to have three suits in rotation so they don't get worn and the LE suits went pfft much faster than my others. Since my favorite suit ever came from there it breaks my heart to not like them as much anymore.

A couple years ago I found a brand called Longitude that I really love. I now have three suits from them and each one is excellent. They're colorful and stylish while being quite forgiving for the "mature" (and, in my case, "abundant") figure. My first one came from Marshalls and was about $40. Since then I've bought a couple (new) on Ebay for $30-40. The retail is about the name as other brands, upwards of $80ish, but I have no idea what stores actually sell them.
