OT: Why is my computer typing over itself in e-mails?

I know i is a random question, but I also know someone here will know! When I write an e-mail, the typing is messed up so that it is typing over itself? What did I do?
It is frustrating.
Thanks so anyone who knows how to get the typing right again.

There is a key that says 'insert' on it. You must have hit it inadvertently. Just hit it again and it should undo. Try it and see if that solves the problem.

Mine does the exact same thing! For some reason, my laptop does it, but not my desktop. I will look up at the screen, and be typing a garbled mess (it just did it again!!)

I wish I knew why it did it, too! And it's not the insert key on mine....

Does your laptop have a touchpad? Are your thumbs or any part of your hand, wrist getting into that touchpad?
One more thing it could be a stuck key or a much simpler thing.. Do you have an external mouse or keyboard? The drivers for those may not be working right or if they are wireless some interference may cause that as well.
