DH will have his laptop along, so I'll be checking mail every other day or so (can't let things pile up, or my account will explode!). If I get the chance, I'll pop in here.

We're half-way there!

The hotel here has free WIFI! Woohoo! So I get to login and do my clicking for the day. DS is down the hall in my parents' room.

All day long my DS has been saying "I go Mickey's house!" I'm not sure he understands what that means exactly, but that's what my mom has been telling him for the past few weeks, so now he says it.

The weather wasn't bad--we left the snow in PA. But it was pretty foggy through Virginia. Almost no visability for a few miles. But I think (HOPE!) the worst is behind us.

P.S. I got to use my $50 AMEX gift cheque from the Pontiac Test Drive towards most of tonight's room cost. The guy at the desk had never seen one before. The balance is of course on my Disney Visa. There--I made it relevant to the RP board. LOL!

Trip update:

We got to Old Key West around noon on Sunday, and were told there was a room available that pretty much matched our request of near a playground or we could wait. We of course took the room. We're in building 50, which is a little walk to Turtle Pond's pool/playground. We've already checked out the playground, and hope to try the pool this afternoon. The other thing about this room is it backs on the golf course, so my brother also gets his golf course view, eventhough he didn't request it. The only "negatives" are being on the 3rd floor--but then nobody's above us--and the traffic noise at night. We're also a short walk to the bus stop.

We've had a wonderful time so far. The only "bad" experience we had was taking a bus (I mean buses) to Fort Wilderness on Sunday night to get dinner at Trail's End. It took us 1.5 hours and three different buses to get there. Live and learn, eh? But of course Mickey was working his Magic the entire time because we ended up timing things just right when we took the boat launch to the Magic Kingdom (to catch a direct bus back to OKW there). We ended up with the "fireworks cruise!" The launches have to stop in the middle of the water until the fireworks are over, so we had one of THE best view of the fireworks we've ever had. And let's just say the finale of Wishes is pretty awesome from the water.

Yesterday was MGM. Nothing "special" to report there. DS got to see Tigger and Eeyore and gave them great big hugs. We never had time to see any other characters. We stopped in at EPCOT before going "home" and picked up pastries in France to take back to the room. And walk all the way to the front to once again get a direct bus (I have no desire to transfer through Downtown Disney anytime soon). Yeah, I knew the buses were a negative about OKW, and we're probably "spoiled" after staying at Boardwalk. The buses are fine if you're just going to the parks and back--it's the getting to other places that's tricky. We're driving to Boma this morning for breakfast, then some mini-golf at Winter Summerland, back to the room, and then MVMCP.
