I hear so much about people saying Crocs are comfy for Universal. I tried some on the other day and the smalls are too small, and the mediums were too big. Does any other Croc fan have trouble finding ones that fit?

Also, since I plan to ride a lot of ride where I will get wet, I am considering taking some sport sandals, (Tevas, Merrill's, etc) Any thoughts on comfortable shoes that also allow getting wet and dry quickly so I am not sloshing around in wet shoes??? (I'm going in July so I won't mind too terribly much)

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I wore Nike Strap Runners. Comfy and OK to get wet.

Ordered the Crocs Athens flip flop from Nordstroms right before our WDW trip last month. Took the advice of the manufacturer and ordered the size closest to what I normally wear (8 for 7.5). Well, they are too big, but I kept them since we were so close to trip time. I wear them around the house, they fit okay, just too loose. I actually found them at our local Dillards, and a 6 fits me pretty well. The smaller sizes are extremely hard to find, both online and in the stores here. I am holding out till I find a 7 locally to see if it fits better than tht 6. They are completely water proof, I have worn mine in the lake to hook the boat to the trailer and they are "squish proof, no squishy sounds when you walk".

Crocs have flip flops that are very comfortable. I know some cannot wear something between their toes, but if you can you gotta try them! I am in Texas and Dillards has them. You can also go online. @$30 Birkenstock also has a flip flop, Newalk.@$20 Can't decide which I like better, but wet is no problem. Several times at WDW last year I went into the rest room and washed and wiped them off, all clean and fresh, felt great! :thumbsup2

FYI, Yes the Athens by Crocs come in sizes, you can also put the smaller ones in the dryer to heat them and then put them on to stretch them to fit your feet.

Crocs Niles fit much narrower than the other Crocs and are very comfy. They are great for the water rides too.

We have been wearing Crocs to the parks for several years now. Of course, we live in Boulder, CO where the guys who developed Crocs live and work, so we have had Crocs here for longer than the rest of the country. Our swim teams around here test marketed many of the prototypes :) It is fun to see what a phenom they have become! The first time we wore them to Universal, people looked at us like we were absolutely nuts in these ugly plastic clogs. Now we see them all over the place.

The Crocs are supposed to be a bit big and sloshy. As long as your foot fits in the footbed, the sides will feel big. That is the comfort. If you want the traditional look Crocs - try the Caymans. They have a narrower foot bed than the Beach Crocs. Most of the Crocs you find at Dillards, etc are Beach, so ask around to make sure you are trying on Caymans. Also, make sure you try on real crocs. The cheap imitations don't have the specially designed foot bed that the real crocs do, so they don't fit like the real ones.

And you can't have a better shoe for the water rides, as they don't get squishy and dry immediately.

Last July, we took our neices with us for a 10 day trip. One early morning, we were walking through Amity and one of the game people yelled out to us that we looked like a box of crayons. I didn't get it at first, but then I looked down - 8 people - 8 different colors of crocs. And the bright colors to boot. We were a sight I have to admit.

I have the Athens (as well as Beach, Caymans and Niles) and I don't think I could walk a whole day in the parks in the Athens. They just don't have the same comfort of the others. I love my Athens and wear them everyday here, but I definitely prefer the Beach or Caymans for all day walking.

Check the Community Board - there is a HUGE thread on Crocs. Lots of great tips on where to get them, sizing, etc.

I think the Niles are MUCH more comfy than the Athens (I have both). I plan on taking them both, but probably wearing the athens to the pool and the niles to the park.

I never wear flip flops - well, not since I was about 14  , but bought some Crocs Athens on our Easter trip.

They were great and, although I was initially nervous of wearing them on the rides, never once came close to losing one :thumbsup2

DD (7) had some too but she couldn't get used to having the post between her toes so guess they may well wind up on E-Bay :rolleyes1

Thanks so so much for EVERYONE"S response. I plan to go to the Community board. There's so much information about Crocs here. Didn't expect that!

I actually love flip flops, and wear them all summer...(actually start in the spring...) But, I did worry about losing them on rides and want something very comfortable.

Someone mention Nike sandals. My husband got some of those the year he did his big Canada canoeing trip and they tore up very quickly. (don't know which model they were)

Has anyone tried Tevas, or Merrills?

My DD (nearly 15) says Crocs are so ugly, she'd be afraid of how embarassing I'd be wearing them. (But, aren't all DD's embarassed of their parents?)

I'm the one who likes the Nike Strap Runners. My friend always wears Tevas when we go to the parks and she loves them. They just don't feel good on my feet though.

DW said they're the rage at the hospital. I think it's a Croc. But Mark James in Horror Makeup was wearing them?
