OT: Wedding Gifts, how much?

WE are in no nj and the average wedding present is anywhere from 300-500 depending on whether we are attending or not.

In the metro NY/NJ area, I think $200 is now the minimum to give at a wedding. A lot of people probably give $250 to $300. Personally, (since you asked), I think giving a couple $100 who got married in Disney was very low. Even though you had to travel there, I'm sure they paid more then $50 a head for you to be there. I don't think you should have taken into consideration traveling there. If you could not of afforded it, you should of not gone and sent a gift. (Just my opinion). Linda

Thanks for your opinion, My cousin didn't want anything from us as a gift since myself, DD & DS were all in the wedding party plus we planned and flew in for her Bridal Shower a month before. She actually refused my gift when I gave it to her to begin with but I snuck it in with the rest of the gifts. The gift she wanted from us was to be in her wedding party and to be there for her wedding a month before Christmas.

Thanks everyone!! I think this is what we will do

1) DH Cousin $350
2) Co-Worker $200
3) My Cousin $500

I haven't heard anything about bridal showers yet so I'll get something off the registries for those and I'll have to fly to Florida for my cousins especially since I'm not going to the wedding.

Dang! That's one might expensive cruise!

Tell me about it, between the cruise, passports, airfare, dog kennel, spending money, hotel before & after the cruise and a gift it adds up quick for four people.
