OT: Wanted: Haunted Mansion Exterior Data

I want to re-create MK's HM building.

I need pictures of the building, top-view layout (where the building is, the garden, etc) and any other details regarding the building.

I hope my statement above is clear.

Basically, I need any info I can get about this building.

no, not that kind of aerial view.

I just need the external building's aerial view to get all the angles because the blueprints don't indicate any angles required to build a model.


I have the low-res piccies here. (I got these pics from eBay)

When I get them back from my architect, I'll take hi-res pics of them and replace the low-res pics.

This is going to be a 5-year plan. Hopefully not further than that.

I'm seriously considering building a replica of WDW HM as my next home. Just the outer shell. The inside will be a regular modern home.

If everything falls into my budget and zoning etc are cleared, then I'll start to find financing.

Most probably not 1:1 replica, maybe only 0.8 replica because I don't need cathedral ceiling for both stories. (8 ft ceiling is enough, I don't need 10 ft ceiling).

yup. I think in about 2 years, building can commence. I'm thinking about getting sponsors such as HGTV, Home Depot, The Learning Channel, etc to document the progress and such.

Lots of works needs to be done prior to that. Hence the 2-year period to even begin.

Also there is this thing called permission from WD Corp. to use their elevation plans.

Hopefully everything will go well.

my son's HM blueprints say " plaster simulated brick", "plaster simulated stone", on the front and back, and "stucco" on the sides. Also slate roof.

hmmm, I don't know whether that'll be okay with the zoning law for a home. May not be sturdy and durable enough for Canadian winter.

Any idea whom to contact at Disney to ask for permission (and maybe buying (at least) 8 sets of HM's blueprint copies directly from them?

Cool idea, but I bet Disney turns you down on permission to build a replica of Haunted Mansion. I bet its copyrighted or something - it is such a Disney landmark.
