Hi all,
This is my 1st time posting on the "Brit. Board." Hello to all of you. :thumbsup2
First I want to say that I really admire the way you guys have handled this whole terrorism thing including the bombing of the subway. The investigators in England are fantastic! I really do not know what this world is coming to.
I live here in Toronto (near the airport) and several of the alleged terrorists in the Canadian plot live in my neighborhood - one on my street.
We are planning to fly in Oct. to WDW and I am a little nervous. I cannot help it. I do not want these terrorists to instill fear in me but I am afraid. Driving to Florida is becoming more appealing to me now since Canadian airport security really needs to be improved! How do you guys deal with this? Flying to Florida, going on subway trains, etc.?
P.S Never been to London - but would love to visit. Heard it is an amazing place!

Don't worry about flying to Orlando-- or over here for a trip to London the security is great!! :thumbsup2 To be honest I used to feel nervous about flying anywhere before my first flight ever which was to Orlando and my mind was calmed as soon as I saw the checks before boarding and again on arrival at our destination airport. All the security staff are great at their jobs well trained too even the dogs!!The immigration department are always thorough and polite they must possess amazing self control and understanding I have to admit I feel alot safer flying now :thumbsup2 A few minor changes will not stop my family from enjoying quality time together in our favourite destination :thumbsup2

Hi Torontogal, the way I see it is you have to get on with your life. I have flown many times since September 11 and I would agree that security has been much improved. I admit to feeling a bit uncomfortable the first time I used the tube after what happened last July but I was determined to live my life as I would have done before.
Carry on with the plans you have and try not to worry about this. You feeling nervous is only natural but try not to let it spoil your trip. Hope you have a great time in October.
By the way I have visited Toronto a couple of times, it's a great city.

Tracy

Hello to Toronto (great city :goodvibes ) at least you're being aware that there are risks but keep that to the front of your mind filed under 'be alert' you are not taking massive risks by travelling and you should be proud to travel regardless of the danger these idiots are trying to impose on everyone. hold your head up and don't give them the satisfaction, if you don't travel they're winning!

Thanks for the encouraging words. Maybe one day we will go to London. I have been wanting to go there for so long - but now I am scared because of all these bozos!
You are right - we have to keep living and not let these people make us afraid. :cool1:
