OT - So the "boy" hamster had babies today!!!

Funny true story to share:

In January we bought the kids two baby teddy bear hamsters.
The person at the pet store assured us that they were both boys.
They started fighting a lot last month (to the point the larger one was full of scabs/bleeding) so we bought another cage and seperated them.

Tonight one of our "boy" hamsters had 3 babies!!!!! :

Funny, these hamsters were only 10 weeks old (or so we were told) when we bought them mid-January and now they are already parents!!!!!

10 weeks... setting a BAD example for the kids! Tell them, "10 weeks is like 30 years old for humans."

Okay this might sound strange, but I have heard of this before. Apparently a hamster in this situation can change genders. Anyone else heard this? Someone from my son's daycare had the same thing happened and were told this.
