just bought a thermos and would like to send them with hot lunch once and awile..any ideas?? no soups.

My daughter loves meatballs from IKEA.
Mini corn dogs,
dino chicken,

the thermos works great for cold stuff too
melon,
strawberries,
cole slaw,

Happy lunching

My kids get sent with them usually about once a week. Any of the Chef Boyardee stuff (Spagetti-Os, ravioli, etc) or mac n cheese are big hits.

DS would pass out if I sent him with anything other than PB&J :scared1: He is such a creature of habit.

DD, on the other hand, likes nothing more than to have leftovers in her lunch. Pasta travels very well as do rice based dinners (Spanish Rice, etc). DD doesn't like stew, but I think it would go well also.

Hot dogs (bun seperate)
Pasta
Fried Rice , Chinese food (sweet & sour Chicken is a favorite)
Chili. Chili Mac ect

My mom would send me with mac and cheese. She still does, just not in a thermos, It tastes just as good coldish

We have several first graders that come with a hot dog. THe mom puts it in boiling hot water in the AM and the slices are still hot by lunch time. He LOVES it!

We do hotdogs too. DD loves waffles. I toast them cut them put warm syrup on them and close it up. She says they are still warm and not bad. They could be cold and terrible but she wouldn't tell me because she love waffles too much.

if they like these
Ramen
hot coco in winter

i had a wholebuncha other things in mind but i forgot lol

Does this stuff really stay hot? How long does it stay warm? My husband doesn't like when I pack him things that he has to go down to his break room and heat up before eating, maybe I should try this. I hadn't thought about it.

I love the ideas! You may want to post this question on the family board too, lots of moms over there helping each other out, I love that board!

This morning I packed my DD a baked potato (cut in to pieces) in her thermos funtainer, and sent along things for her to mix in: cheese, broccoli, bacon, and butter.
