I rec'd a suspcious email today with the title of Rachel...of course this grabbed my attention as Sharon's (3kids4me) little Rachel was having surgery today. I also rec'd many emails from board members saying 'anyone know what this is'.......
I am not a computer expert by any means, but I did delete the email and changed my password. I do know some virus' will read your address book or addresses you have sent to recently and send a virus.
Just trying to give a heads up.

Lynnie, I received this email as well...several times! It is the first time (believe it or not) that I have ever received a virus! Yikes! Yuck!

I received it too. From a couple of different people. I just deleted it, as I normally do if I don't recognize what it is. Also, an indicator that it might have been a virus was that it was sent to SO many people.

Thanks for the heads up to those who might not have realized it.

I don't recall receiving anything with Rachel in the subject, but I did receive one today that said, "Mary sent you a card." I called my friend Mary - she didn't send it - she hasn't been near her computer recently. I will keep an eye out for emails from you all.

I received it as well but did not open and deleted it. I will rarely open attachments that are included on such a large mailing.

I recieved these email as well, from 4 different people. I recognized some of the email address from the boards, but I was suspicious about it, so I deleted them all too.

I never, ever open attachments the don't have an explanation attached...but as Lynnie said, the title was "Rachel" and here it was surgery day for mine. So, I opened it. It doesn't seem to have done anything (I'm on AOL); I think perhaps it only affects people who use Outlook.

Lynnie, sorry if I caused your computer any problems!

It was all cool Sharon! I did not download it, but I will thank the board members who emailed me saying 'what is this'........I probably wouldn't have downloaded it anyway, but those extra emails really made me think twice!

I got it from my husband's email at work and it did attach itself on to everyone in my address book! Once I realized what it had done I emailed everyone and tried to stop them from opening it and told them to just delete it!!

DH got it from his coorporate office which means it has gone to probably thousands of emails and then if they opened it went to thousands more! I will NEVER open an attachment again unless I know what it is and who its from. I just saw it was from DH's office so didn't think twice about it.

I don't see anything wrong with my computer today though so I'm hoping its okay!
