Hi everyone. Does anyone know if I am allowed to bring powdered formula in a dispenser on a plane for my baby? How about baby food in a packet? I haven't flown with a baby, so I am unsure. Thanks so much!

You can bring as much powdered formula as you want.
For the baby food, if it's a liquid, you can bring a "reasonable amount" so that really depends on the TSA agent, but you aren't restricted to 3 ounces. If it's solid food (like gerber puffs or something) you don't have any restrictions.

I have not had issues even with my 2 year old and his love of pouches. Just be sure to limit the quantity. I never had a problem with formula in a dispenser either. Once through security I would purchase a bottle of water. They typically have some that is not in the cooler in back.

There is no official limit to baby foods and even liquid formula, but the screeners will probably ask you how long your travel time is to assess that your amounts are appropriate and not a cover for something terrible and suspicious. :rotfl2:

It's not just baby food - baby medicine is exempt too. So diaper creams and things like tylenol/motrin or antibiotics also don't have to follow the 3 oz rule or be in a ziplock. You just have to declare them at TSA and pull them out of the bag. We never traveled with formula, but I have been able to bring 3 or 4 pouches through with no problem.

You can travel with powdered formula. You can also travel with pre-filled bottles with water, formula or milk. Just tell security it is for the kids.
