OT: Pirate and Princess Part

I was wondering if anybody can tell me about the P & P Party. They've extended it out a few months and I was thinking of taking DD to it when we're there spring break. Is it more for boys than girls and is it a separate ticket for adults?

I just bought tickets for April 11. We are so excited. I've never been before, so I don't have too many details, but here's what I do know.

The park closes at 7:00pm on the nights of the party. The P&P party is from 7:00pm - 12:00am. You have to have a separate ticket for the P&P party. It is like $46/adult (including tax) and $40/child ages 3-9 if you purchase them in advance. If you wait until the day of it's something like $52/adult? I don't know the exact numbers. If you look on All Ears Net (not sure if I'm allowed to say other websites, so sorry if I'm not) they have all the info on dates, prices and activities as well as some pictures from last year. They have a different parade and fireworks show for the P&P party that are supposed to be great. It seems like they have an even number of pirate and princess things going on, so it should be great for boys and girls. If you don't have park hopper tickets or aren't going to be in the Magic Kingdom that day, you do not need to use one of your park admissions to get in for the party. It is a separate ticket and the party starts at 7:00pm, but they will let you into the park with you P&P party ticket at like 4:00 or 5:00pm.

It is great for both boys and girls. There is something for all kids of all ages. Your DD will have a great time!!

We did the P&P party on Jan. 29th. My youngest (7) is a big Jack Sparrow fan.

Yes, you do need tickets for everyone going. But the cool thing for us was how few people were there. I mentioned in another thread, we were told by a CM on the boats they had 8000 people for the party that night. MK maxxes out at around 80,000!. That's 10% capacity. Talk about low crowds and minimal wait times. It was sweet.

I think the girls have just as much to do as the guys. Plus the girls quite often do some Pirates stuff. Of course, you don't see the boys horning in on their Princess activities.

We're going March 6th - we all have some pirate themed costume! See avatar for my 2 eldest's dress rehearsal. Even the baby has a "Arr... surrender ye ****y" shirt.

I've heard from friends who all have girls (ranging from 6 years down to 3 months) what a great time they had and how empty the park was. The common advice with the younger kids was not to do a park that day but rest / nap and go in at 4pm just on the P&PP ticket because the park is open until midnight. That's our plan anyway!

I was wondering about P&P, too. My kids are older, so they may find the activities "beneath" them, but the thought of lower crowds and a chance to see a different fireworks show is appealing! We have dinner ressies at MK and were going to leave the park because of P&P, but maybe we should stay. Just thinking about ponying up the money or not.

Just went on Feb 5th, got there at 4:30, park wasn't very crowded at that time, but still had 15 minute waits on some rides. After 7 pm the waits were completly gone!!! For us, it was worth the price, plus we didn't go to the park that day, just hung out and relaxed by the pool, to save the kids energy. Fireworks are great too!! AND, If you don't go to the P&P party, be sure to watch the electric boat parade at 9:45 on the beach from FW, the fireworks are in the background at the same time...

No. The P&P Party is a special event and only requires a special ticket only. Not that Disney wouldn't double dip lol. I'm sure the concept has been given a few go rounds.

No, you do not need a normal park ticket to go to the P&P party.
We only had purchased the P&P party tickets, never had park tickets for our entire vacation. A CM in FW told us as long as we had our resort ID's (although we were never asked to show them)we could get into MK at 4:30 on the day of the party. That was great instead of waiting until 7pm as I originally thought. Upon entering MK, they give you a wrist band so you can stay in the park after 7pm.

We were at the Jan.29 party,it may be a little more for the youngsters rather than adults, but we dressed in full pirate & princess garb,and much to our surprise so did many adults,could not have had a better time ! It was great,wonderful fireworks,fantastic parade, and absolutely no line waiting . Definitely go , and bring the big kids too .

We went of Feb. 2 for our anniversary . This was the third time that we had been, but first w/o our boys. Although this year they're not handing out candy and are a bit stingy with the jewels that replaced them, it was great fun!! We're going again on 2/22 when the ILs will be in town to go with the boys4 2. My pirate loves it!! As soon as I can post pictures, I'll try to get one of him up as Capt. Jack. (The best $75 we ever spent was on that costume, this will be the 4th time he's worn it.) In August, we brought down the step-kids 10. 7, and they both loved it too. DSD was a big fan of Princess Aurora (Sleeping Beauty), and was thrilled to finally get to meet her (she wasn't able to in April when they were down). DSS was just as happy to meet Jack Sparrow.

Can't wait to go again!! Maybe this time we'll dress up. We thought of having our youngest dress in his Mickey costume from Halloween and say he's a Lost Boy. Still looking for his costume though.

Heres my 2cents on the partys. (mnsshp,mvmcp, p&p) I think you pay enough to go to the park, I'll admit the partys are great fun but so is F&W fest. osborne lights, candlelight processional, flower show, you can see where I"m going. what if they start charging for those?
