OT..Outlet shopping Maine???

Hey there, We're thinking about a trip across the boarder to do some outlet shopping in Maine or Mass.

It's been years since my last trip. Last time I went Freeport was the area that had the best shopping. Where are the best spots to go? Any suggestions?

Instead of Mass., head west to New Hampshire. Not far from Maine is the town of North Conway. It's got great outlet malls... and there is no state sales tax!!!!

Freeport has good outlets. The LL Bean store (the main store, not the outlet) is open 24/7 - you can shop all night!
There is a large outlet mall (can't remember the name right now) just south of Boston, if you feel like driving a few hours further. And yes, New Hampshire has no tax - we were there in January and when I gave him my credit card, the cashier asked me if I was from Quebec, or New Brunswick. I am from Ontario.....but I guess they get lots of Canadians shopping down there!

Hi B&B! Being a Mainer I had to reply!Most of the same shops are still in Freeport. LL Bean has expanded recently.Herre is a link to Official Freeport site.

We went to the outlet stores in Maine last September Labour Day weekend and we went to Freeport, North Conway in New Hampshire and Kittery Outlet Stores.

My favourite was North Conway, New Hampshire...NO TAX!!! We stayed in South Portland because it seemed like the most central location to each outlet mall for us.
