I'll be glad to keep everyone posted about what we find when we get the safe open, but don't get too excited - there won't be any cool old letters like the one in last year's thread... just some junk from the 80s (maybe my red parachute pants that disappeared due to being an "eyesore" to my parents lol).

Are you calling a locksmith? Are you going to blow that baby open? What's the plan?

If you decide to contact a locksmith, first take all the information you can find on it as well as a few good photos. Then ask him if he can help. Some locksmiths are better at safes than others.

First I'll see if I can find a serial number and try calling the safe company (gotta find a working flashlight first) then I'll call a few locksmiths (big believer in 2nd, 3rd, etc opinions) and see what they tell me. The dynamite will have to be a last resort because it would lead to a conversation with my homeowner's insurance company that I would just rather not have. lol
