Good Evening, just about to head out to pick DD2 up from work, gasping for a cup of coffee but the kitchen floor has been levelled today ready for tiling (this is all ongoing from the leak back at the end of July!) so I had to stay off it til a few minutes ago. Not worth making a drink now until I get back. Tomorrow the tiling begins, can't wait for it to be finished and these workmen are out of my house!!!

Sorry, this is completely off topic, but I'm looking for some advice.

With Christmas not too far off now scared1 I'm starting to give some thought to Christmas shopping and little bits of "stocking fillers".

I'm completely out of touch with the type of books that teenage girls might like to read , so would appreciate it if anybody can point me in the right direction? Looking for a couple of books for Sarah, who's nearly 14.

Aside from books, if anybody has any other "fantastic" suggestions then they'd also be very much appreciated - I've already got quite a few idea's, but inspiration is always welcome!

I've seen a lot of the Twilight books in Tesco, but wasn't really sure who they were aimed at.

I'm quite fortunate that I haven't got to shop for main presents, as they're taken care of with the trip (+ all of the little Disney bits I've picked up!) but I want her to have a few packages to open at Christmas - especially as this is the first time I'll have spent time with her at Christmas for about 5 years!

Really difficult to put myself in the place of a 13 year old girl though to decide what she would like as I was always a big sci-fi fan, but I'd imagine girls tastes would be a bit different...

A bit of both really...she's very mature for a 13 year old but still likes to be a "girly girl" sometimes.

Honestly, even at 13 women are impossible to figure out!

i would second the twilight books by stephanie meyer, (even i at 26 enjoy them lol!) but my 13 and 16 year old cousins adores them (as well as 24 year old cousin), there is 4 in the series, (twilight. new moon, eclipse, breaking dawn) and coz of the film there is special offers on a lot of them (i got mine from whsmiths 2-4-1) also waterstones had them on offer as well

though they are sci-fi in as much as their are vampires/warewolves in it, its essentially a love story of a teenage girl who falls in love with a vampire
