Okay, so after catching the Extreme Couponing show for the first time on TLC this weekend I began to wonder if this may be a requirement?:confused3 It seems that in order to have a "No Buy" month i would have to have a stock pile of items i.e. paper goods, cleaning supplies, and pretty much any food and drink items that our family would need or eat during this time right? or Would I be going about a "No Buy" period wrong?:confused3 So, I guess i'm asking for clarification on how a No Buy period actual works? So if any of you guys have done this please feel free to chime in and explain how it actually works? TIA :hippie:

'No Buy' can be anything you want it to be. You set a goal, like 12 no buy days, or, set a budget and stick to it. It is a challenge from you, to yourself.

It doesn't have to be zero spending days, in less that is what you want to set as your goal.

Try reading on the thread. You will see that everyone's goals are different and tailored to theirs or their families needs!

As my No Buy friend Sunnie said, "No Buy" is what you make of it. I have been doing it faithfully for 14 months now. My personal goal last year was to strive for half the days in a month as no buy days at all and was very successful. This year, I have altered it and do not include groceries, though I have found that really doesn't seem to matter much. What it does is makes me plan trips better (saving gas and time) and keeps me out of the stores where they is temptation. I don't think anyone would be on a no buy for a whole month thread, at least no one on there now would be.

Come on over, set a goal and give it a shot. It isn't as easy as it seems but it teaches you a lot. PLUS, they are the nicest people over there. My goal was to do it for a year, and I did, but I'd miss my friends over there way too much o stop so I have continued. They truly are the kindest, most supportive people. I just love that thread! :lovestruc

Cool thanks for the input. I think i'm gonna start w/ picking at least 5 things for a week or two then go from there. Thanks again. :thumbsup2
