OT: Netflix or Bockbuster Total Access?

So if you turn a movie in at the store and choose another one, there is a due date on returning that movie?

Yes it is what ever the rental period for that exact movie is (i.e. 2-day or 5-day etc..) plus an extra 7 calendar days to get the movie returned to the store (must be returned by NOON on the 7th extra day).

We have had blockbuster for 5 years now.... and are loving it even more for the sheer fact we can return or selections to the store for another instant movie and the next online movie in our queue will arrive roughly 2 business days later :D

To be fair its not really a 'late fee' with Blockbuster (at most of them) Its a restocking fee that if you dont return it within 7 days after the due date they start to assume you are buying it..once you do return it there is like a dollar and change fee- its not bad

Also Blockbuster has the same service as far as if you have a bad copy of a movie, or if it doesnt come when they say it should you go online and check the situation off and they give you the option of having that one resent or the next one on your list

Our Blockbuster is pretty good about having most of the newer movies in so we can usually get what we want either through the mail or in the store. The only one that took a little longer recently is the Departed and we ended up getting that one 2 days after it came out

I havent tried Netflix but the Total Access with Blockbuster is awesome

I dont get the "they had to be forced to do things" - as long as they are doing what people want now that is fine by me!

I had Netflix and switched to Blockbuster and it is not going well. The disks have came broke, scratched up or not even made it to our house. Granted this may all well not be Blockbusters fault. It just seemed everything went more smooth with Netflix and it also seems like I got my movies alot faster. However the customer service with Blockbuster is really great. We had a problem with receiving some of the movies and the problem was fixed immediately, offered free rental coupons for instore, etc.. Never had to call customer service with Netflix though..

We have Blockbuster Total Access, and really like it. We like being able to grab new movies at the store when we want one, and ds uses the e-coupon for a video game rental once a month.

I've had both and found them both similar. Currently signing back up for blockbuster, mainly because of the additional in store rentals. I called the local store and asked about how the in store rentals worked. The clerk told me if I sign up in store they will give me an immediate free rental and 2 weeks free. I said I had previously been a blockbuster online member, can I still get the 2 weeks free, he said, sure. I am going to see if that actually happens!

We've had both and like Netflix much better. We had Netflix, then Blockbuster, and now are happily back with Netflix. Blockbuster had slower turn around, damaged discs, and our local stores would not always accept coupons. Our local store is SKANKY so I hated going in there anyway.

I've always been pleased with Netflix.

We prefer Netflix, I can not think of a single time I have been unhappy with them. When we used Blockbuster I was mad all the time.

There are late fees on the in store pick ups. We are lame sometimes and spoiled by Netflix real no late fee policy. I will never go back to Blockbuster. My daughter got a gift card for her birthday and we will use it to buy a used DS game or a used DVD.

I'm a loyal Netflix customer.. Our local Blockbuster stores don't participate in the Total Access program, anyway- and I don't think I'd switch even if they did.

Started off with Netflix. Had some problems. One month I only received 1 movie that was watchable. I did want to like it.

Switched to Blockbuster because of the free in store coupons. Had some problems but more movies. Now Total Access is awesome. It's like 2 for 1. On top of that I still get a free in store rental every month.

Both options are good and better then renting at the local store.

We have Blockbuster and love it as well. Getting the in store rentals has made all the difference. We had Netflix in the past, and our turnaround time for movies was awful, sometimes a week or more, Evidently they are better now, judging by the previous posts. Our problem was, we would forget to put the movies in the mail once we had watched them, then when we wanted a movie we didn't have one. Being able to go to the store and exchange movies has made it alot easier for us, we are never without a movie to watch now :happytv:

I started out with Netflix and switched to blockbuster when they started the free game and movie passes each month.

2 problems lead me back to netflix.

1. BB movies took forever to get to me, almost twice as long as netflix.

2. Getting free games and movies at the store was great, but reminded me why I started using netflix in the first place!! I forgot to return the movies to the store and would get late fees on free rentals!!

Anywho, I went back to netflix and never had an ounce of trouble.

looks like 15 for Netflix and 13 for BB. I think I'll take advantage of BB's free trial period but hold onto my Netflix in the mean time.~:)~

We have Blockbuster Total Acces and LOVE it. We haven't had any issues. It's been nearly a year since we signed up with Blockbuster. We love being able to return to the store for another movie. Actually we get TV show DVDs at the store and our movies online. Works out great!

I have netflix, tried BB stayed with netflix. The Total Access is nice, but it reminded me why I hated to go to the video store (lack of selection and driving to return the instore rental). The BB website it works, but there is something I don't like about the search feature even DW agreed. They other thing I did not like was I had a movie at the top of my queue it was always available, but it would never send. I saw this a lot with BB is that it would always pick movies at random in my queue. What I think the reason was that yes the movie was there and ready to go, but not at my local sending station. They where trying to impress me with speed rather than getting me the movies I wanted.

I was willing to try BB because Netflix and I have a love hate relationship. I like there selection hate the service turn around. I am 3 at time person during the winter in WI we sit inside more and watch more movies. At points with Netflix I have seen my service get throttled back. Meaning you see you movies taking longer than expected.
