OT: need help with baby girl names

Girls name can be tough, believe me I have 5 of them!!!! LOL

Here are our girls names....

Kathryn Merle
Jennifer Elizabeth
Danielle Nicole
Christine Anastasia
Emily Grace

We also were thinking of Hannah, but we are done. :rotfl:

You all have some wonderful names. Our list is slowly growing. Here it is so far: Reagan, Lena, Eden, Darby, Lacie, Payton, Paisley, and Lexie. I thought it would be hard to name another boy, but I think it is way harder to name a girl. Thanks for the great names, keep them coming.

Love these names you're already thinking about!!! My take on a few of them (hey you asked lol!)
Reagan - has always been one of my favorite names because it looks good written and sounds so pretty spoken, but it reminds me of The Exorcist too much!
Eden - Reminds me of that girl from the soap opera, but she was beautiful so that's my first thought when I hear the name - long, hair, really feminine appearance, just pretty in general!
Darby - I know a little red headed girl (one of the cutest little girls ever) and she just fits this name so much. I would love to name my own little girl Darby but we already know one Darby and it's not a common name so I'd feel like I copied my friend if I did use it!
The others are nice too, but these are the ones that stick out most to me! If you were to do a poll with names - I'd say Darby (I love Elaina as the middle name) for sure! It goes well with the other names you have and it's just adorable to me! I bet it will become more popular over the years too!

I will say this but its JMO - I think that when you have to put how to pronounce a name in parenthesis, it's a little tedious. My friend named her son Eoghan (Owen.) I think that sometimes being unique can also cause problems for the child too. There is a band I love and the girl that plays guitar and her name is Ruyter which is pronounced like my son's name - Ryder. Just confusing to me but to each her (or his) own ya know!:goodvibes

Being a Jennifer born in the early 70's (so about every third girl I met had the same name as me) and being called Jenny when I was younger and trying to break it, the selection of a baby name was really important to me. It could not be a top 20 name and I did not want a name that could have a cutesy nickname (just my preference) or one that would sound dumb when she is a grandma.

We finally settled on Jordan Elizabeth.

It went with our last name, Jordan was a slightly different name but not too trendy and Elizabeth has millions of options and is classic if she decides she does not like Jordan.

Other names we liked but ended up rejecting. . .

Briana - didn't like it with our last name
McKenna - my mom said we can call her Kenny - scratch that one
Sydney - didn't like it with our last name
Sierra - this was the other finalist but we picked Jordan

Good luck!

Adia
I wanted a little girl and had the name Adia picked out (from the beautiful song by Sarah McClachan). When I found out it was a boy I decided to name him Adian (no I don't mean Aidan and I didn't spell my sons name wrong). His name is pronounced ADN. Just say the letter names.

Wow, I love Adian and haven't ever heard it! We thought of using Aidan for Ryder but too many people have it! I love that Sarah song too and Adian is a great way to reference it.

So funny I came here for help naming DS#3! Let me start by saying Congratulation on your little Minnie Mouse! I have 3 boys and we thought about trying for a girl... but since I am 1 of 5 girls, I know the odds aren't always in your favor! I am happy with my 3 little princes, but often wonder what it would be like to have a daughter! DH was "fixed" :rotfl: last year and will say every now and again - we should have tried for one more - maybe it would have been a girl!!?? Maybe and maybe not - we wanted 3 and we have three.... Who knows, if God and mother nature wanted us to have another they would make that things work again - its been known to happen!!?? ;) :scared1:

I made a poll after I narrowed it down and went from there. Had we had a little girl - these are the names that we had picked out:

Hannah Elizabeth - more common than I realized, or Elizabeth Hannah
Madison (Maddie) May - ((DS has a little girl names Mattigan in his class which is also very pretty "mattie" for short))
I know there were more at the time, but those are the ones that came back with each baby...

It was very important to me not to have a super common name, yet anything weird or scaring for the child. I like a lot of the "older" more classic names...

Babynames.com is a great website and can store your names with middles names while you decide... Good luck and congratulations!!

Chloe Elizabeth (my personal fave!)

My Chloe is Chloe Joanna (after my mother). Not only do I love the sound but also the fact that my two DD's names sound alike without having the same first syllable as my Allison goes by "Alle" (that's how she herself has always spelled it).

Haley (Hale-e, not Hal e)
Madden
Kaylin
Sophie
Julia

Some nice names so far .... my girls are

Julia Beatrice (Beatrice after my mom)
Olivia Pearl (Pearl after my grandmother)

I love the name Julia and was so happy we had a girl. I was so sure the whole time I was having a boy (she would have been Ethan).

I like that they have names that are easy to spell and you don't have to spell it to every person you tell it to. My name is Kerrilee and I have to spell it ALL the time. It really does get irritating, especially when you are younger. To the girl who's friend is naming her daught Ayliviah (or something like that), she is going to constantly have it mispelled and it will become irritating. Why do that to a child?? I am a teacher and there are so many spellings of names ... one year I had an Aiden, an Aidan, an Ayden, and an Aaden!!! Two of them were last names with M, so we couldn't call them Aiden M and Ayden M, so we called one Ayden with the Y. As for popular names all of the aiden sounds seem to be big around here ... Aiden, Kaeden, Paydon, Heydon, Jaydon ... etc ... so I don't like all of those ones anymore!! (that is boys) With girls, Emma is very popular as is Keira ... but every area is different!

Good luck ... it is so hard to pick one that is just right ... but somehow it always seems to suit the person who gets it!

Have fun ... girls are fun ... imagine all the pink ... but with four older brothers she will probably end up being a tom-boy!!

I haven’t read the replies, so some of these might be a repeat. I have three boys myself (including an Avery!), but these are girls names we have considered.

Sloane
Cambelle
Loganne
Morgan
Gabrielle
Presley
Alexandria
Kennedy
Noelle
Leila/Layla

My youngest is Sara Beth (we named her before that song came out)
My oldest is Ashley Victoria.

We also like Emma Nicole
Emmy
Zoe

Our son was going to be Sarah Elizabeth (Sarah Beth), had he been a girl. I think it is a classic.

Other names we considered were Jordan (girl or boy) and Emily. I liked Willow, Amelia, Ivy, and Rowan, but DH wasn't on board with them.

I've always been rather fond of Taja. (Do we have a fluttering eyelashes smilie?) *LOL*

Also like Sciobahn. Difficult to spell and pronounce, but I like it. :confused3

I like "M" and "H" names: Maggie, Mallory, Melanie, Holly, and I've really liked Harper lately. Harper is a little more trendy, but sounds pretty yet strong at the same time. Good luck! :goodvibes

Another one I have liked for the last few years was the name of a girl I used to work with...Tavia. It is a pretty and unique name! :goodvibes

Getting our first Granddaughter in June. Her name is going to be Harper Rose. We have 3 grandsons, Taylor Jason, Wiliam Matthew, and Cohyn Jason. Jason is for our son who was killed in an auto accident in 1991. He is truly missed and remembered.

We have an Ellia. . .first syllable accented like Julia
I also like:
Elisabeth (Betsy)
Margaret or Megan (Meg)
Piper
