I've got a brochure next to me, dreaming of a free upgrade to castle club in January

We were hoping to upgrade, but because you don't get the free night offer, it means the upgrade cost for the 4 of us (3 adults / 1 child) for 4 nights / 5 days is £715, which is an awful lot considering it's quiet season and a standard room is only £1015 for the 4 of us anyway.

To be honest, that does seem quite a lot of money. I think the DLH is enough in itself....

We're splitting the cost between the 3 adults so it works out reasonably (Mum and I are splitting the difference between the DCR and the DLH between us, while step-dad is paying what he would have paid if we hadn't upgraded).

For 1 or 2 people, then yes - it's quite an expensive hotel (about £950 for 2 or £560 for one for our dates).

I know..... We considered booking the DLH for January but we decided it was a bit out of our range this time... If we'd gone for that we couldn't have afforded all the lovely meals we have planned....

Can't wait though!! I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!
