Hi there,

I'm looking into double strollers and the ones I like the best seem to be Maclarens and Baby Jogger City Mini. If any of you other Canadian parents have one of these 2 strollers, where did you find it?? I'm guessing I'm going to have to order online but don't want to pay an extra $100 in shipping fees! Thanks for any advice!

I saw the City Mini at Toys R Us (Vaughan Mills) last week. I was considering of buying one lalso. It's quite expensive though $299!

We purchased our Maclaren stroller on eBay from one of the online stores based in NYC. It was brand new, sealed in the box but was the previous year's model. Even with shipping and duty we saved quite a bit of money compared to buying one locally.

I had my Perego P3 shipped to the resort and saved a lot of money!

I went to a baby store A Baby's World and tested out Maclaren's and the Perego strollers before purchasing online at www.albeebaby.com

Kiddietown in Ottawa used to carry the BabyJogger double strollers. We have the double City series which is wonderful!

Thank you for your replies! I'll definitely check out kiddytown...I don't know what their prices are like but I can at least test the strollers before buying one online. And shipping to the resort is a great idea! Thanks for your help!

Squirrel, I'm curious, how did you get the stroller shipped to the resort? I've thought about shipping it to my uncle (who lives in the US) and having him bring it up the next time he visits, but on all sites I've been to the billing address you enter has to be American (and the billing address has to match my credit card's billing address...)

As a lover of the Macs (we have an XT and an XLR), I would strongly suggest you test out the double model before buying. The seats on the double Macs are VERY narrow, and a lot of kiddos complain about discomfort around ages 3-5, depending on their body weight and proportion. So yes, the double fits through most doorways - but there is a seat space drawback for said luxury!

In Ottawa, there were several places selling Macs (all expensive, mind you!) - but you can try at Kiddytown (the East end location) and a few of the high end baby shops on Wellington. You might also be able to snag a deal on a Mac right now. Kushies was dropped as the Canadian Distributor of Maclarens, I've heard a TON of stores in Canada are dropping the product line again.

I did something simmilar. I bought the Jovvy kaboose, through Amazon, com and had it delivered to Vero Beach resort. I was a little nervious since if something went wrong I would have 2 little kids with no stroller BUT it was perfect. I saved almost $200 and the stroller was waiting for me in my room when I checked in.

I got my Maclaren from Bebe Depot in Montreal. I bought the previous years model for an amazing price. They also sell Maclarens at Junior Baby and they offer dree shipping on most items. I ordered a few carseats from them and I've always had great service and fast delivery.

We bought our City MIni double from a ebay seller and had it sent to our resirt! Actually I have purchased many strollers from them and have been happy with service. We also owned a MacLaren twin Techno but found it uncomfortable. Our only issue with the Twin Mini is there is no way to keep it closed as it has no lock. We solved it by making our own!
In terms of US shipping. You just give them a US shipping address and they will send it there. However, ask before you buy as some do not take international credit cards but these are few and between.

I called and talked to someone at albeebaby. I wanted to make sure it arrived a few days before I did. I was told what day to order it from them to make sure it didn't arrive too early or too late. Disney will hold packages for 14 days I believe. I took all the information with me-they were able to tell me when it arrived at Pop. I was a bit nervous about it not arriving or it being damaged or something but all was fine.

It may be too late, as I see your question was posted awhile ago, but I've ordered accessories for my Baby Jogger single from Country Moose Kids in Maine, and they have free shipping to Canada (!!) and carry the full line of Baby Jogger strollers among others - the website is countrymoosekids.com and they were great to deal with. I've also ordered a second stroller from Albee Baby and had it shipped to Ogdensburg, NY - either the UPS store there or The Corporate Centre (corp-center.com) will recieve your packages and hold them for a small fee until you can drive down and pick them up. The 45 minute drive was well worth it, considering I got the stroller on sale for half or what it cost in Canada.

I too as a previous poster, got my Maclaren from Ebay. Its a older model but came brand new in the box. Shipping wasnt too bad. There is a good place in New Jersey ( I know ;)) that I think was called baby world that carries them and gets rid of thier old models on ebay.
