I'll take that quote one step further and say that last night episode imo was the best episode of lost ever!

Is it just me, or have you noticed that the shows all seem to have big emotional moments?

I find myself tearing up at least once every week. I guess I've really taken quite a vested interest in this show

wow, amazing episode, loved learning Richard's history. now i feel bad for him. lots of great and interesting clues too.......loved the whole wine bottle- cork to keep the evil in too...........

I love Desmond and I love Faraday! I was pumped to see them both in this episode.

Has the answer been in our faces all along when Desmond has said on sooo many occassions "See you in another life brother!" ???

Did anyone notice the picture in Whidmore's office it was of the scale black and white were even...Whereas when smokey took sawyer to the cave the side with the black rock was higher.

what about penny telling desmond to meet him at the coffee shop...will juliet be there??? I think at this point its safe to say the bomb worked

It would be too cool if Sawyer and Juilet were in the coffee shop, but I don't think it's going to happen. Also-- how did they get all that stuff in that small submarine?...

I thought last nights episode was the best yet. To me it's the one that is starting to put the pieces together. Although it is Lost so next week will blow all of my ideals out of the water.

Here's my "theory":

Is the show is about love, and love is what made Desmond & Daniel's brains "connect" to their memories from the island...I'm wondering if it will come down to them making a choice between the 2 "worlds." Just b/c the plane didn't crash doesn't mean you'll be happier. Perhaps all of the castaways that experienced true love may choose the island life:

Sun/Jin
Desmond/Penny
Charlie/Claire
Hurley/Libby
Daniel/Charolette
Sawyer/Juliet
Rose/Bernard (interestingly - on the season opener...it sure seemed on the plane that they knew something Jack didn't. If so - what if: their love was no different on the island or in this sideways world, so their memories automatically "transferred" when the bomb went off. They were, as far as we know, the only pair in love before the crash).

But what about Jack and Kate?

I'm not sure they were ever truly in love...she always seemed to carry a torch for Sawyer. If so - perhaps Jack chooses his sideways life, where he has connected and found a loving relationship with his son...something he never had with his father.

Just thinking out loud. I love this show.

In other words - it seems like what they're all missing in the sideways world is love. What if....by Desmond somehow showing them how to "download" their island consciousness, they can live in a world where the plane didn't crash...but they'll be able to reconnect with the love they only had on the island?????

The Desmond we saw in the season opener on the plane was wearing a wedding ring...so I'm guessing that was Desmond after we saw him last night (ask for the manifest). Or it could be a gaffe.

I have been listening to the Lost podcast, where Damon and Carlton answer questions and one of them said to not make the mistake that the two were separate, and that they would somehow merge at some point! eek!

I was never able to listen to that podcast before because where I live we were way behind, but now I'm all caught up and still loving it! But ugh, only 9 more shows! I don't want to say goodbye...

Somehow I suspect poor Desmond is going to get the raw end of the deal in this when it all plays out. I suspect that when Charles Whitmore is done with him, Desmond will be doomed to reamain on the island separated from Penny and his child forever.

Perish the thought! Desmond and Penny are my favorites. And on the official Lost podcast, Damon and Carlton hinted that Desmond would have a happy ending.
