I was thinking about life changing moments recently and I was wondering if anyone else had some of these to share. I am not talking about birth of children or weddings etc here, I am talking about things that seemed so small that you did not even celebrate them, or at the time they seemed like bad news.
I have 2 that come to mind.
#1. This seemed so small at the time, but getting my first job. I worked at a restaurant and eventually made some lifelong friends there and met my husband to be (although we di dnot start dating for years afterwards). I also got my sister a job there and she met her husband as well. My first job was definately life changing for me
#2. This on I thought was bad news. My sister was on mat. leave when I returned to work after having Faith. (In Canada we get 1 year off). My sis agreed to babysit Faith for the remainder of her mat. leave so that I could find a good sitter in the meantime. After 1 month (it was supposed to be 5 months) she just could not handle it anymore. She was not enjoying the timewith her kids, etc. It was the hardest conversation she has ever had with me. I had to find a sitter!! I spent the next few days crying and paniccing, I dreaded the thought of leaving my DD with a stranger!!
I finally called a phone number in the paper and it ended up being my neighbor!! We were not close, just casual hellos here and there. She took DD in and we became really good friends. She moved out of the city to a small town 2 years ago and we were once again devasted. We were losing friends and our trusted sitter. We remained friends and went out to visit them several times. 1 year later we also moved to that small town and we love it!! We have made many great friends, we love our home and DD is back with her trusted caregiver!! (Whose daughter is DD's BFF).
