Well done Bob, a 2:1 overall is great (thats what I got overall too!!)

Evening all:goodvibes

What's everybody having on their pancakes tonight then?? I've been stoking myself up all day for a big mountain of pancakes!

Bob xoxoxoxox

I'm staying in a hotel till Friday so I can't have any pancakes till then:sad2:

Oh my God. I can't believe it. I've been waiting for one assessment to come back from uni this semester... I got a 75 for it, which means a first, which means I got a first overall for that module! Because of that and the high marks I got for the Animated film module I've pulled my overall uni mark up a grade to a 2:1!!! If I can just keep it up I'll graduate with a much better degree mark than I ever hoped!

Well done:cheer2:

Hope there is no major incident in the South East from the next few weeks, as of tomorrow we are all going to be on call & will have to help out if there is:eek:

We always take it on holiday with us, mainly though to download pictures each night.

I'd forgotten about that - that was a godsend at Disneyland as I took about 400 pictures a day so it was so helpful to be able to clear the card every night and start fresh the next day. It meant I didn't have to worry about space - I could just snap away at everything I liked :goodvibes

Evening Nikki - good to hear from you again. Have you had a fun day

Torsie I hope that guy is alright, I know how scary it can be, we've had a few patients collapses and 1 heart attack in work, thankfully they've all survived but it does make you realise the importance of having qualified first aiders in the workplace.

Rob, thanks so much for the information, sorry that my question caused so much debate. I was asking because I though it was very neat the way people have logged in here when they visited, plus any photos/videos I take with it can be uploaded straight to my BT Vault. :thumbsup2

I'm afraid I'd find it very difficult to live without the internet, I have friends and family that I can only keep in regular contact with on the net, I check my emails several times a day, bank and do almost all my shopping online. I even use my doctors and hairdressers online appointment booking system and I can keep in touch with work. Not that I intend to do any of these things on holiday, but each to their own. I for instance don't understand why young people feel the need to text each other a million times a day. My son comes home from school and then texts the friend he's just walked home with to find out where they're meeting and then they'll text each other several times more before the friend comes to call on him :confused3

Bob well done on the grade :thumbsup2 great news.

I was very good and had just 1 pancake with lemon juice on, it wasn't through choice though I've some health problems which has meant cutting out fats, a large amount of cholesterol has shown up on my gall bladder although my cholesterol test came back as lower than average, but the pain I've had when I've over indulged is enough to make me not want to eat naughty things. The others in the household had fruit, icecream, chocolate sauce (milk & dark) and golden syrup, in various combinations.

Nikki, I'm sure you'll enjoy your pancakes all the more for having to wait for them. :goodvibes

Me too - ditto!! And it means I can empty and charge my video camera!

WIll not be going to WDW without my laptop for sure!! Although having seen their wifi prices I don't think i'll be on it much!!

Thats what I do too, I take way too many pictures on a trip!! I like to download the pictures each day so I can store them better too, that way I can have a folder for each days pictures. It helps me to remember the order we did things in!!

Bob well done on the grade :thumbsup2 great news.

I've quite enjoyed the discussion - we all have our own opinions and it's interesting to see what different people think about something like the internet which has become so central to people's lives in a relatively short space of time - we've only really had internet properly for about 10 years and it's evolved so much in that time - I remember when downloading 1mb took ages on a modem where as now it's a matter of seconds.

So - thanks for kickstarting it - whether you meant to or not :thumbsup2

Evening Nikki - good to hear from you again. Have you had a fun day

It was ok, just more of people talking to us, the practical starts tomorrow. They have tracked my uniform down, it has been sent to Surrey HQ rather then to the Kent training centre.

The meals are nice but I will put on some serious weight as they are giving us 2 cooked meals a day:eek: I might have to have salad at lunch in future. I didn't stay for dinner today, I just grabbed a sandwich at the shop near the hotel.

As we are on military baracks we have to be on our best behaviour. Having said that whenever you pass any military personnel they are very polite & say hello:thumbsup2 their not bad look either;)

Wow that's really good Bob - keep up the good work :goodvibes

Is it possible to do well enough with what you've got left to improve even further or are you just looking to stay at a 2:1?

If I really killed myself I might could improve further, but I don't know if I want to break my brain altogether! :lmao:

I just can't believe my blog got such a high mark! I'm really stunned!

Sounds great Bob, well done.

we'll let you off Nikki if you suddenly disappear. When I had access through Travel Lodge it just cut off when the time was up

I wish it was free, I won't renew it till tomorrow when it goes tonight. Its £7.95 for 24 hours as a package with the movies etc or £5 per hour:eek:

I'm going to use my daily allowance to pay for it.

I have to admit to loving the internet, without it I wouldn't have made the friends I've made and I treasure each and every one of them. I do feel 'lost' if I can't log on each day for whatever reason but I've yet to use it whilst on holiday away from home.
I probably spend far more time than I should do online but I find it interesting, educational and at times mind boggling - I wouldn't be without it!

I'm fine without the internet if i'm staying with friends & family etc. I've only got it now at the hotel is because i'm on my own, except when we all meet for drinks in the bar:thumbsup2

Ive also made some brilliant friends online who i love chatting to so much. I do log on away from home as I enjoy chatting to those friends on holiday as well

I have made some great on line friends too. The 1st time I went to America I stayed for a while with a fellow teacher I met on line, her class and my class were epals. She came to stay with me too which was great!!
