I used to watch this show every week...from the very beginning when it was just a special. Used to. Partly, I've stopped because of the eyerolling and sighing my husband does if he even HEARS Kate's voice on the televsion. And partly because it's not even based in reality any longer. I can agree with needing alot of space when you have alot of kids. I have 5 kids, none the same age, but it doesn't matter. However...my grandparents had 7 and my IL's had 9 and they lived in normal sized houses with the kids sharing a room. And guess what??? They all lived through it and were better for it because someone didn't hand them everything they ever wanted on a silver platter. It's really sad that she acts the way she does when she has so many blessings. Blessings she wouldn't have had but for medical intervention. There are plenty of people out there who would thank their lucky stars every day to have all those healthy and happy kids...even if they lived in a 2 bedroom bungalow. My dh calls Jon something that I cannot post on the DIS...but it has something to do with a cat..if you get my drift. And it is totally true! I just thought he was figuring it was easier to agree with her than to argue..but no...she's browbeat that man into submission! I watched the episode where they told the kids they were moving. And I almost cheered during one part where Jon was watching the kids on a blow up slide/ball pit toy and he was asserting himself and being firm with them, instead of following along behind Kate, shoulders hunched with a hang dog look on his face.
I'm sorry for those of you who actually knew/know her, or tried to volunteer your time and got treated poorly. Noone should ever treat people who are giving up their time to make their lives easier in such a cruddy way.
