OT: Jersey shore destinations?

Slightly off topic.......
We never did realize that Going "down the shore" was a north east term until we moved down here to Central Florida!
Come in to work on Monday morning and somebody asks "So what did you do this weekend?" and we reply, "Oh, we went down the shore...."
They never knew what we were talking about.

I would vote for Wildwood. WE usualy stay in North Wildwood on 24th street. Right at the start of all the action. There is soo much to do on the boardwalk. Check out the site for Moreys piers www.moreyspiers.com

I buy my kids wrist bands on nights we are doing rides. The bands are about $33 I think.
Also, they show movies on the beach on Wednesday nights. Its really fun.
It can be very pricey on the boardwalk. So Movies on the beach are a welcomed break.

we own a home in ocean beach oceanbeachnj.com that gets rented out. great beach, 15 min from seaside boardwalk, 20 min from pt pleasant. but ocean beach is private.

my inlaws own a home in north cape may which we love. a 20 min ride to wildwood crest and the best beach around. one or 2 evenings the boardwalk in wildwood is fun. can also take a drive to avalon, stone harbor etc. and there's a ton to do in cape may

i personally am not a fan of LBI i think it's gotten overrated. rentals are down, so pricing is. not a lot to do if the weather isn't great. good beaches, gets very crowded, one way on (the bridge) one way off.

with a family it might be better to rent a small home or condo so you're not forced to eat out every day.
