OT: It's 3AM Back from seeing "Eclipse"...

I liked Eclipse so much better than New Moon. In our theater it was NOT the tweens/teens screaming nearly as much as the MOMS! I find it sorta creepy that these women oogle and ogle this teenager. Yes, he has a nice bod...but there's a good chance their kids are nearly the same age. :lmao:

I still enjoyed the movie though! :lovestruc

That has been my feeling since New Moon. I am all for appreciating all his hard work to look like that, but it does creep me out to talk to moms my age (lets just say over 40) saying how awesome he is and that the would love some of that. If that was a guy saying it about a 17 or 18 year old girl, it would be looked at as a bad thing. If my teenage daughters have the posters in their rooms then those guys are too young for me.
But I enjoyed the movie and watching the teens I took have a great time.:goodvibes

I took dd and her friend to the Midnight showing and I couldn't believe it, there was no screaming. There were a few aahhhs, and the girls behind us couldn't stop talking about Edward and Jacob, but for the most part it was pretty subdued.
I also hate to admit that I didn't think the movie was so bad, of course Im comparing it to Twilight and only a little of New Moon that I saw, so take that for what its worth :lmao:

Those of you going tomorrow, I'd love to know how the lines are and how full the theaters are. I'm thinking of going right after work tomorrow around 5-5:30. I did that with DD9 on the 18th for Toy Story and we saw the 4:45 show and while there were a lot of people there, it wasn't full. We had our choice of excellent seats.

When I saw New Moon I waited about a week or two until I had a Monday off (I work 9 hour days w/ every other Monday off). I don't want to wait to see this one!

I'm in the minority I guess, I liked Twilight better than New Moon, maybe because that is when I feel in love with the whole Twilight series, and I really like the Eclipse book so I'm hoping it wins me over as my fav! Can't wait, I"m planning on seeing it at a Drive-In next week!!!!!

I took four preteens to the midnight showing last night. It was my daughter's birthday. I was really surprized at how busy it was. Way more people than when we went to the Twilight opening. (I didn't do New Moon at midnight)

Anyway, I thought that this was the best of the three movies so far. I thought that the acting was much better, and I really enjoyed the flashback scenes. I thought that the screenplay was well done and got most of the main points of the book right.

Now, if I can just get a nap in this afternoon!

DH and I are trying to decide if we want to see it this weekend. DD14 is away at camp until August. If I was sure that it would still be playing, I'd just wait until she comes home.

I thought that New Moon was so cheesy. DH and I couldn't help but laugh at so many of the lines. At least if the humor is intended in Eclipse we can avoid dirty looks.

I must be missing something because sure Jacob has a hot body but there are so many other actors who have hot bodies and are LEGAL... Plus I think he kind of has a butter face!!

I will see it when the hype has died. And I also like twilight better lol!!

^^^ he is legal. since like november i think...

If you don't want screaming teens you need to choose a theater where you know none will go.

For example, I have a theater 5 minutes away from me but I went allll the way to the beach (30 min) considering parents wouldn't let their kids go to the beach to see it since it's for older people.

my theater was GREAT! I've gotten lucky when seeing these movies. Saw new moon 3 times and no teens, and saw eclipse last night, no screaming teens either, wooo!

I LOVED IT !!!!! It was my favorite book so it was great! Made me realize 3 things tho:

1. i hate jacob
2. they made jacob look like the victim....AGAIN. He is much worse in the book
3. bryce howard as victoria is a disgrace.

She didnt have that intimating glare, or the voice. Its as if she created a new character which was not the point, you had to tap into what Rachael created.

SO upset they couldn't let Rachael (orginal actress) play her because s(c)ummit messed up on the fliming dates >__<

I REALLY don't understand how some people say they liked twilight or new moon better. Twilight looked like a flim students project, it was horrible!

Anyone ever seen one at the IMAX theater? I'm thinking of going there. I definitely will not see it at our areas most popular theater.

hahaha one word-COUGAR....

Ditto. I'm not a huge fan, though I did enjoy the books. But my best friend is obsessed, and draged me to New Moon on opening weekend. Same thing, screaming girls everytime Jacob appeared, and wispering about "this is the part in the book when" the rest of the time. My friend is now going tonight by herself because I told her I'm not paying $10 for a movie not to be able to enjoy it. She likes to go multiple times, so I told her I'd go with her once the crowds died down a little.

LOL - don't suppose your best friend is named Amanda, is she? :rotfl:

Just asking because she sounds like my bf Amanda. I swear the woman is obsessed/possessed (which ever you prefer) when it comes to Twilight - lol. I enjoy the movies/books, but not enough to read/see many, many times.

I am going next Wednesday evening....wanted to wait until the screaming teens wouldn't be so prevalent.....but didn't want to wait 2 months like I did when New Moon came out!!

A couple of my friends saw it today and thought it was the best movie of the Twlight saga so far.....but I will reserve my judgement for after I see the movie!

There were 16 of us Twilight Moms who went to the midnight showing last night. The theatre was very organized, even with 10 theatres sold out.

I had the premiere party at my house then we all piled into a few vehicles and drove to the theatre. We arrived about 1 1/2 hours before the movie. We're glad we did. We were let in almost instantly and since we were there so early, we were all able to sit together.

There were a few screamers, but nothing to really disrupt the movie. Through certain parts of the movie, you could actuallt hear a pin drop it was so quiet.

Loved it and can't wait for the next one.

Can someone tell a non-twilight series reader if this movie is appropriate for a 12 year old girl? I did not read the book but based on feedback from another mom that has the same guidelines, I let my DD read it. DH is concerned because it's rated PG-13 and movies are more graphic sometimes than books. Is there anything at all graphic (in a sexual way) in the movie? What about language? What about anything gory? Please excuse my ignorance if these are "silly" questions but I want to have as much info as possible before I allow her to go with a friend and see this movie. Thanks!

I guess am in the minority here, I just don't get it. I don't find any of these kids in the movie attractive in the least. I know they are vampires, but they just look ugly. Anyway, DD isn't into it either, thank goodness, in fact her friend brought over The first one the other night,(see I don't even know their names) and she could barely sit through it.

I do love vampire stuff, I love True Blood on HBO, but this teenie booper stuff is for the birds. FWIW, my best friend loves the Twilight Series. I just don't get it.

I'm not sure that I would say it's appropriate for a 12 year old, but that's just me. I suggest that you watch Twilight and New Moon so that you can make up your mind as to what you want your daughter to watch. Each parent is different, so I hesitate to say, "oh yeah, it's fine," when it very well might not be "fine" for you. :happytv:

This is what I did with my kids -- I watched the movie in question first, and then gave my approval, or not...

I'm still trying to watch "New Moon". I borrowed the dvd from someone, but it won't play past the credits. I tried it on the Blu-ray and the computer, w/ no luck. I even checked NetFlix to see if I could watch instantly. I would like to watch them in order.

ok I went to the triogy at 7p as a good mom of a 16 yr old. It was all right but they showed it on the 3d XD screen and it was a bit fuuzzy at times.

Also all I could think the was is that the girl from the fresh beat band (Verionica ; its hard when you have kids of vastly different ages).

It was ok never saw it before but my daughter won a T-shirt so that was cool.

.....:goodvibes
Love that line, you made me :lmao:
Have not seen Eclipse. When we saw New Moon it had been out for about 3 weeks and saw a Matinee. The tween girls, who showed up in mass, had clearly seen it before and hooted and catcalled every time Jacob appeared on the screen. They went NUTS when he took his shirt off, and then they BOOOED Edward when he took his shirt off. :rotfl: One even screamed "no one wants to see that!" Since I did not think the movie was as great as it could've been, good but not great, this totally made the movie for me, especially since my 13 yr old son rolled his eyes and humpfed rather loudly every time the girls went crazy. heehee. :rotfl:
