OT - iPad video question

So, I'm trying to decide which iPad I need to look at from a size perspective. I know I will be heavy on the video so does anyone know on average how much space a movie take up? I'm looking at either the 32 or 64, which route should I go?

Star Trek (2009) is 126 minutes. The iPad version is 1.83 gigabytes. This is the version that came with the Blue Ray disc.

This is just to give you a basic idea. Every movie is going to vary depending length, resolution (not the right term but close enough) and other factors.

Thanks. That is exactly what I was needing. I was looking at my iPhone and realized the video was taking up a lot of space and I really did not have that many movies on it, so I figured I might need to go with the larger version.

I have a 32g ipad and I rotate movies on and off regularly.

Once I have watched the movie, I just replace it with a different one.

If you are going to watch a lot of movies on your iPad were you will have an internet connection, consider Netflix. The Netflix App works great.

Well, I think you have helped me decide which one to get! I've used the Netflix app on my phone and had good results, so I will definitely have to give it a try on the iPad. Now I've just got to find a store that has the 2....not looking good, may just have to order it from Apple.

I have the 32GB iPad 2 with nine movies on it, and it's only about half full.

Thanks so much everyone. We just got a new vehicle and instead of getting the rear seat entertainment I suggested we just get a couple of iPads to entertain the kiddos. I figure that the wife and I will actually get the most benefit!
