OT: I'm Losing the Laundry Battle

A day without doing the laundry means the whole next week to catch up! In our family we all have our own hampers, I wash and put away at least one load everyday and we re-use our towels.

My question is how often do you all wash your bedsheets?

I do ours once a week.

How about socks? I am considering a hamper just for them. I have the "let's play basetball with my socks" guys living in my house!

First of all, don't stress about it. We have a small house, too, with limited closet space. We have 4 hampers....2 upstairs for the girls(one in oldest DD's room) and 1 in the hall closet and 2 downstairs, one for DH and one for me.
I am always behind with laundry. With 6 of us it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep on top of it. I should be putting away the 3 loads in my laundry room right now, but I'm on the computer instead

I found that lots of hampers = lots of mess... we have one hamper in the hallway near our rooms-and I keep the baskets stacked in dh's closet,so we can toss into that top one also- when the hampers getting full, I know it's time to do a load(or 3)- this works b/c the basket in the closet gets emptied by taking it,and adding from the hamper.
I have a tiny wastebasket downstairs in the 1/2 bath for things like our cloth napkins and dishtowels(it's off the kitchen) but it's TINY,so no big mess-
In the basement next to the washer I have an emtpy hamper,when I bring a basket down, i toss stuff into the machine, but toss lights/whites into the empty hamper next to the machine- when it's full,time to do a white load!
but to say I'm all caught up would just be joking....

We have a whole separate basket just for the unmatched socks. The only time they ever get matched is when I tell my kids I'll pay them a nickel per matched pair.
