This is a long shot, but I know that the Maclaren Quest is a popular stroller among the Disney crowd.

Today, I used my 2009 model Maclaren Quest stroller for only the 3rd time, and the hinge pulled apart while my 4 month old baby was sitting in it. (Talk about a safety issue!) The item was purchased a few months ago, and I don't have a way of obtaining a sales receipt...so I'm unsure of how (or if) Maclaren stands behind their warranty without a receipt.

My DH removed the zip-on hinge covers, and it looks like a rivet might be missing from the hinge. But, the hinge on the other side looks exactly the same, and I'm really unsure as to if it's actually SUPPOSED to look the way it does.

Here's a picture of what my stroller hinges look like. If you notice, there's a rivet on the right side of the hinge. But on the left side, there's a hole but it does not have a rivet in it. I'm not sure if this is the way the stroller is actually supposed to be, or if we somehow managed to have the rivets on both hinges fall out.

DH really struggled with opening the stroller (he had never done it before), so it's possible that he might have done something wrong to pull the hinge apart. But, I'm trying to figure out if there should actually be a rivet in that empty hole, before I call Maclaren about it.

If anyone has a Maclaren Quest, I would really appreciate it if you could look at your stroller hinges and tell me if they look the same as mine. Here's a pic of mine:

If I am looking at the same thing on mine, yes, we do have little screw thingies in both holes on both sides. (only they aren't screws, not sure what they are called.)

Yup, I have a 2009 model Quest also, and we have those silver things in both holes too.

I would call and see what they say. BTW, we have 3 Maclarens - DH has really struggled with opening them (you think he'd learn by now), but we've never had any actual damage to them.

Good luck.

If you purchased your stoller from an unauthorized dealer you will be out of luck.
Does it have the serial numbers on the bottom?
Some of the strollers being sold out there and on ebay are not really Maclaren Stroller.
I purchased one and found out the hard way.
I was able to force them to take it back.

We had trouble closing them before but not opening them.
