I have organized my scraproom and now have everything easily at hand except my brads and eyelets. I cannot seem to find an effective way to store them that allows me to see my full selection (I have A LOT!!)

I am looking for ideas from my fellow scrappers on how I can do this.

Thank you!!

Amy

I have afew plastic boxes thast have compartments. I have one case with round and square eyelets and brads sorted by colors. I have another with brads and eyelets that are Disney or nature- leaves, animals, ocean, ect. I have a third of the same size (I think 17 compartments) that has jeweled brads, holidays (divided by holiday). I have 2 more that are a different size- oine has my prima flowers and one isn't full yet it has various small shapes.

I got little jars from IKEA and I separate the brads by color and some are also separated by size, but mainly by color (silver; gold; multi-color pastel; multi-color primary; etc.). They're a great size (about 3 inches), come in a pack of 4 (I have 2 packs and might get a 3rd pack). They look really nice in my craft room, but of course this is no solution for taking them to crops!

That is a big part of my problem!! All of my other items I can grab for crops, and brads/eyelets are a MESS!!

I have used the divider trays recommended by the PP, but I never went that far in my organizing, and I think that may be the problem. I have to go through all of the trays to find some thing.

I think I am going to go through them and sort by color/season/theme and use those trays.

On another topic (can I hijack my own thread?) I bought a Clip it Up for my stickers and rub ons - do you have one of those? I LOVE IT!!! Especially for crops.

I like how those look but I know me and I know that wouldn't work for me. I don't like anything out if that makes sense. I know a lot of people can't work like that and need to see everything, but I like everything put away. So, I have stickers sorted in CM binders by topic (Food, Sports, Easter, Wedding, etc.). Rub-ons are in an IKEA box by topic. Then I have a 3-drawer plastic bin with things like chipboard words, blank tags, etc. It's a system I've found that I really like but I know that it wouldn't work for everyone.

I use the stacking pill containers and mini jelly jars.

I bought a bunch of plastic boxes, with adjustable separators, from Target's $1 spot, awhile back. I think I have about a dozen of them, but everything is sorted. I have a Christmas one, Hearts, Stars, other Holidays, basic eyelets, basic brads, etc.

I went to the beading section at Joannes and they have a great system. The plastic boxes have individual compartments and I think there is like 10 on each of the two sides. Then they stack inside of a bag to bring on crops. I leave them in the bag all the time so they stay neat. I have one for brads and one for eyelets. The bag comes with I think 4 of the boxes but it fits a couple of extra in there. I have ALOT of brads and this is the best way I have found to store them

hey honeybehr1 i was thinking about you the other day! nice to see your post!

i have mine in a recycled spice rack. i washed out all the bottles and they are on a spinning wooden rack. it works for me.

Thanks Party. Its been a really hectic couple of months but I am finally back to myself. I am hoping to get back to regular scrapping but there never seems to be enough hours in the day. I did finish my youngest sons t-ball book from this year :lmao: so that is some progress

I use these by craft mates, you can find them in the bead section at Michael's and ACMoore (maybe Walmart too):

I took an organization class at CKC and the lady said to sort by theme and then by color, so I have holidays, seasons, then colors. I'm not finished yet and will probably need 1 or 2 more but I really like them because I can take them with me to crops. They lock so the tops don't pop open by accident.

I have the "tic tac" boxes from walmart. clear plastic boxes that hold I think it's 24 little "tic tac" boxes inside. I have more than I care to admit

I went through everything last night!! It took me hours!!

I sorted by theme, then color or by brad size then color.

I used my boxes from Michaels that have the seperate sections (a PP metioned them).

I still need more boxes, but I think it will work.

I may look into a Craft mate, they seem like a good idea.

When I was sorting I realized that I had Christmas ones, baby ones etc in several places. I even had tons of doubles - I mean how many silver stars can I use!! :lmao: I think that was the key. DH even said I should have done this years ago....hmmm thanks.

Thank you for all the suggestions!!

Amy

That's cool that you went through everything. I always find it fun to discover things I didn't even remember I had! Glad you found a system that works for you :thumbsup2
