My friend really needs a 4 day get away and now a couple of others think that is great too. No kids or husbands which is fine as we all (except friend) did a Disney or Mexico trip.

So my ? is to you: what do you suggest as a (non-gambling) exertion for Canadians? Sometimes Westjet sends out emails with specials.
I would love to know what other ladies have done in this manner. We love shows and plays! Also excursions! Thanks fellow Disners!

This is too funny....my girlfreinds and I are looking at these options too! The husbands went to Boston early Dec to take in some hockey, football, and B ball, so now it's the girls turn! Yah! I'd be intersted to see what info people have for you!

Good luck with the planning.

I have done both. New York City a couple of times with girlfriends and Vegas this past Nov. We got a great deal w/Westjet. 4 nights at the Monte Carlo incl air of course for $579! We went to see Tom Jones :lmao: , Bette Midler and Menopause-the Musical. We saw Ka (Cirque) as well. That one I could do without. Had some great dining..played the slots a little, none of us gamblers. We shopped at the Mall and walked miles. We walked through every single Casino on the strip.. It was a great time.

New York City, also lots of fun. But you will spend more. We went last May. Enjoyed seeing the Sound of Music, Mary Poppins (booked ahead) and Legally Blonde (1/2 price - same day)on Broadway, again-lots of shopping. Great dining in Little Italy, Mr Chow, Tavern on the Green for Brunch, Serendipity from the movie of the same name also for lunch. We went to the Guggenheim (sp??) Museum of Natural History, Empire State building and the Statue of Liberty. Same group of ladies went the year before as I was lucky enough to get tickets to see Ellen Degeneres film her tv show there. That trip was quickly pulled together!

We are all off on a cruise in a few weeks. Love travelling with my husband and daughters but wow we girlfriends have the best of times too!:thumbsup2

I would also say Vegas. So many shows, tons of shopping, and just wandering through all the casinos is an adventure in itself.

I think it would be alot cheaper to go to Vegas.

I have been to both and you would have fun either way...NYC would probably run you more money. I have also done a cruise weekend with a bunch of gals and it is a blast and not too expensive. We did the 3 day Carnival Bahama weekend which leaves Thurs and returns Sun with 24 hrs in Nassau to wander around there. We flew out of Buffalo on the Wed and stayed a night at the port and the cruise itself was only $280. Activities and food are included so we just had to pay for alcoholic drinks (certain cruises allow bringing your own wine on board and it seems most people pack stuff in their suitcases for their cabins) There were 2 nightclubs on the ship but the night we were docked in Nassau there are several nightclubs to go to (if that's your thing) where most of the tourists from the various cruise lines go. Whatever you do I'm sure you will enjoy...I go away every year with just friends and it is so nice to have a weekend just about me! (It's nice not to have a pick a restaurant with a toy chest!)

I agree LV is the better buy most likely, BUT when we did NYC last time..I managed to fly from Buffalo w/Jetblue for $49 each way. We got a Hotel (Intercontinental-the Barclay) with Priceline for $135 pr nt, split 2 rooms-2 ways and apart from great dinners out, kept the daytime meals pretty reasonable. Did a couple of Pub lunches that were great and cheap, Deli's too. For us, it was the swanky nighttime restaurants that hiked up the costs and the darn fabulous shopping!!!!:rolleyes1

Make this an annual thing..do one this year--the other next? Once you start doing this for you, you won't stop - trust me LOL
