Well I'm having a break from planning. I have done my next weeks planning, but really I should do my planning for the 1st 2 weeks back after half term as I won't get chance to do it in my week off with my trip to DLRP!! I think that can wait a while though!

I was also wondering if I should call the dining line just to check my reservations are still there. I get a little worried after our April trip where they cancelled my Walts reservation without telling me.

If it would put your mind at rest I'd ring them personally.....

I'll share because I'll burst if I don't!

She was going to pay for us to go back to DLRP, but we just couldn't make it work. Instead, she's paid for us to have a night in a seriously posh hotel in Edinburgh, and she's paying for a meal in said posh hotel's restaurant!

We're staying in 'The Old Rectory' Suite, and dining in the 'Secret Garden'.....

We'll be going in January, after my birthday.... A nice treat for after Christmas!

It's wonderful.... My friends have been going mad that I don't want a party, but my Mam said I could have a really posh pressie or a small pressie and a party. I'm not into parties, so super posh pressie it was!! Its just what I want and it's sooooo perfect!!

Neither of my girls wanted a party so they had extra special presents and then on (or around) their birthday we had a few family and friends over - 'open house' and it really worked well. More importantly both girls really enjoyed their day.
Not sure that would work for my DS though, but he's got a few more years yet before his 21st.

Not bad thanks, my cold has finally broken open so hopefully it will gone in the next couple of days.

Had to take our dog to the emergency vet as he is not well, his blood test results were almnost normal so its a waiting game to see if he has a sore throat or if the pancreatitis has come back

Well, I think I've canned the idea of the family meal now.... Thats why this is so fab!!

Sounds lovely though..... An 'open house' always seems a nice idea for a party. My mates don't get why I won't just hire a room and pay for booze for everyone. It's really not my thing, so I don't see why I should do it!!

My son really isn't into parties and I'm not sure a 'get together' of family and friends would be to his liking either - I could be wrong though. I think he'd prefer just to go out for a nice meal somewhere that he hasn't been before.
Open house was great we just said from 4pm til 9ish (people were travelling and it was work for them all the next day) and people just came and went as they pleased, had a drink, food and some cake - everyone commented on how much nicer it was not being restricted to a particular time and more importantly everyone who was special to the girls was there.

My 18th was only a couple of months after my dad died so it was horrible.... Thats why something nice is in order for this birthday!

I've promised Robert a helicopter lesson if he ever learns to drive- Talk about bribery!!

Thanks , they are going to give him some food soon & if he can eat it no problem then he can come home. I did have to laugh the vet asked what he eats at home, so they have a selection to work with unlike his last stay when he wouldn't eat anything as he didn't like it & he didn't get a choice
