I found out at work today our new office manager is a huge DLRP fan, she goes quite a bit too!! So now I have someone to chat to who doesn't roll their eyes at me!!

Looks lovely Bob - Ive not looked at the menu yet but just been reading your game of guessing what people would choose. So what would I have had?

Argh, am a bit cheesed off. I've finally got round to asking about applying for leave from school for DD for the last 2 days of term. I kinda knew that it was gonna be turned down/unauthorised but I was hoping that they'd at least consider it, bearing in mind her attendance has always been 100% (esp this year!) and she had minimal absences in Reception and Yr 1 (2-3 days off sick at most, if any) .. and we have only ever had one unauthorised day way back in Feb 07 and that wasn't even our fault. We went to Mauritius during half-term (it was somehow quite a long half-term then) and we cldn't get on the flight back becoz of cyclones etc. So we were one day late. Anyway, spoke to the lady at the office and she downright told me that I can write in but it will definitely be unauthorised. I asked if there would be any consequences (fines etc) if we still went away and she said that she wld be down as a 'G', which means unauthorised and that they will then monitor her attendance after that. I have absolutely no worries about her attendance after that.

What's the point of me writing in then if it's gonna be unauthorised anyway? Argh. I think I'll just write in to tell them anyway. So annoying that those with good attendance have to be penalised for other idiots who take the mickey. It's not that ours is a regular occurence either. Arghhhhh !!!!

I'd not worry about it. I would fully expect the absence to be listed as unauthorised. But if you are happy with your child's school work then take her off and enjoy your holiday

Hmmmm...... Now, you seem to eat a good variety of foods..... I shall have a stab though!

I think you would have had:

Starters: The Bacon Tart or the Mushroom Rarebit.

Mains: Thyme Roasted Pork Chop or Beef and ale Casserole.

Desserts: Creme Brulee or the Banana and Hazelnut tart....

I'm probs totally wrong though.... *ashamed*

Like I say, I need to chat to people lots!! You'd be amazed how accurate I can get!!

BTW- I might have been right on the dessert- You don't like cream do you? The passion fruit thing looked to have come with cream, which is what I suspected and why I didn't pick it for you!

Ive had the same avatar since joining - its maybe time I changed it. I agree though I get confused when people change theirs
