OT-For those that have had c-sections....

I had a c-section in 2000 & I still have numbness at the incision. No pain but on rare occasions (about once a year) I'll turn wrong or whatever & I'll feel a slight 'tug' but thats all.

I had a c-section about 8 1/2 months ago. It is still sometimes a bit tender and "stingy" in that area. Usually if I accidently bump into something where my incision was or bend just right. Is this normal? I have a Dr's appt in a couple of weeks, but just wanted others opinions that have had one. It's certainly not like it was the few weeks after, but I thought it would be pretty much healed by now. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

jen

I had the same sorts of feelings..."dead nerve" spots...tingling...itching...hot flashes in weird places (just random patches of skin)...and mild "stretching pain". I stopped feeling most of it just recently, at 2 YEARS postpartum. I would say what you're feeling is normal, IMO.

I had the same problems until about a year after mine. Mine would hurt even after walking around for awhile at the mall. It as has been 2 years and I don't have any pain but I hate the poofiness that never seems to go away no matter how much weight I lose:sad2:

Thanks everyone! Like I said, I have a dr's appt in a couple of weeks, but it's always nice to hear from people that have actually experienced one. I appreciate the input and will assume I'm not dying :)

I had a gyn appt. and I asked my Dr. about it, thinking of this thread. She told me that there are a lot of factors into it:

How long ago you had your c-section; they're constantly learning how to do them "better" so those with more recent c-sections will do better than those who had them years ago--or even their first years ago.

The type of c-section performed.

Where the actual incision was placed.

An individuals healing ability; some people heal better/faster than others.

And, begrudingly, she said it also depends on an individual Dr.'s skill. And it doesn't mean that a more painful scar is a bad Dr., but just some are better at the re-stitching.

Same here..I had twins in 2002 and have similar numbness, but no pain.
