OT--Fixing plastic sleds

Hi! I have a question... I was at our school the other day picking up my son and I saw that about 1/2 of the plastic sleds they use for recess have cracked. Sleds have been sold out in our area and the surrounding areas since Christmas, or I would offer to buy a few more.

My question is what can I use to fix the cracks? They are cracked on the sides where the kids would hold onto them and some are cracked partway into the area where they sit. Would duct tape hold the sled in place? Or would it come off since it would get wet when the sleds are outside?

Any ideas would be appreciated. Their playground is totally covered in snow so sledding is all they can do.

maybe gorilla glue or something like that?

That's an idea...i will also check with the hardware guy when I go shopping tonight...

Sounds dangerous. If it cracks again, because it is weak, it will scratch or cut them. I wouldn't trust any repaired plastic like that.

Check with the school and see what they think about repairing them.

We have always used duct tape being careful to make sure all sharp edges are securely covered. Gorilla also has their own version of Duct tape out and it is even stronger than regular duct tape.

Love duct tape - haven't tried the gorilla tape yet but my sister swears by it.
