OT - Dollywood with Small Kids/Questions

We are going to Dollywood and have two little ones (age 6 and age 1). I called to see if they allow backpacks. At first I was told no, so then I asked how about diaper type bags and she said they would be checked for food and beverage. She then said any type of bag would be checked. So I said, "then backpacks are allowed but will be checked?" and she said "yes". So I now have two different answers about backpacks.

Anyway, they seem very strict about bringing in food and beverages. What about snacks for the little ones? I doubt very seriously that they sell cheerios and toddler crackers in Dollywood. I would hope they sell juice boxes and/or milk though. Anybody have problems bringing in snacks for young children?

I live a little over an hour from Dollywood and I am a season passholder. I have been going there since they opened and I have never had or know of anyone who has had anything checked I take my back pack all the time and when my daughter was small I took her sippy cups and juices and snacks. They do not do anything at all like Disney..The only thing I would say they would do would be if you walked in with a bucket of chicken or something..But otherwise they wouldn't know if you had another person stashed in your bag cause they don't check. You'll stop at the ticket window purchase your ticket go about 20 feet to the turnstile put your ticket in and walk on thru.That's it...I was just there 2 weeks ago also and they hadn't changed anything then.. Go and have a good time....

We have had season passes for the past three years and we love Dollywood.

Every trip I carry in a large backpack(Mickey Mouse) full of frozen bottles of water, juice boxes and snacks. We have been approx. 10-11 times in the past three years and during all seasons. Fall is our favorite time and Christmas is great but very cold. Our kids are 7 & 12 and don't need a stroller or I would take in more drinks, snacks and other stuff if I had something to roll it around in.

We have never had a bag checked when we use the season pass holder entrance, but they do check bags at the main gate occasionally. I had mine checked a couple of times at that entrance and the only thing they made me take out was a can coke because it was a can not a plastic bottle. That was our first trip and I learned then to take Capri Suns and water bottles! I have ALWAYS carried drinks and snacks and will continue to do so. It has saved us so much money!

I also take a backpack and snacks and water. Never had a problem.
By the way the best time to go to Dollywood is early Sunday morning. Less crowds.
