OT: Does the FAA consider these items "liquid"?

Okay... there is one item I am considering bringing but it doesn't appear on the list. I bought some of those "tuna kits" that include the mayo packet and the crackers. (Starkist tuna in water with 6 crackers, mayo, relish). Since the tuna is in water, is that a problem? Since it is a metal can, is that a problem? Or will I be all set if I put them (two of them) into the Ziploc bags with my Chapstick??

They weren't too expensive, so I'm not overly concerned it they confiscate them...... just don't want the aggravation. Thanks in advance for any insight into this..................P

You should be fine if the can is 3 oz. or less and can fit in your ziploc. On the TSA site, it says you can bring canned or jarred items provided they are 3 oz. or less.

I accidentally left my tube of lip gloss and hand cream in my purse when I returned from a trip - I had an extra baggy with me so they let me fix it up right there at the screening area.

You really don't need to worry about putting your shampoo, conditioner, etc. in a smaller unmarked bottle IF you're putting it into your checked luggage. I've done it several times over the past year while traveling PHL/MCO.....you only need to worry about the bottle being original and marked under 3 ozs. if you want to carryon these items. I just double Ziploc anything that might leak and check it all.

For the answer to the Tuna question - tuna in water in it's original package is a liquid. If you fix the tuna and put it between two slices of bread, it is no longer a liquid and you can take it.

My kid's yogurt was confiscated, they actually told me I could step over to a chair and eat it, but we didn't have time. Canned fruits are also a liquid (like peaches, pineapple, etc.). I know they make exceptions for baby food and formula, but I'm not positive exactly what it is.

Yes, put the tuna - and the mayo, and the relish - in your one-quart clear zip-top plastic bag. The crackers are fine as is, but the other items DO count as liquid.

I had a chapstick in my pocket accidentally, and realized after I got home and pulled it out of my jeans. Went through security with it and everything. Glad I'm driving again so I don't have to deal with the TSA regulations and the PITA interpretations of said regulations :)
