OT - Does Costco accept expired coupons ? - UPDATE

I bought a laptop from Costco -- I just realized it was on sale last week and I could have purchased a new one at the sale price and returned it with the old receipt -- thus saving $150.

It was a Costco coupon and expired Sunday. If I go in today, will they do a price match or am I out of luck ?

Funny that you brought this up. Just yesterday, I was looking through my papers and saw the coupons and realized they had expired.

I called my Costcos and they said no to expired coupons.


I would call yours and check, you never know.
 
I would go in with the dated receipt and the coupon. As long as the receipt is dated within the validity period of the coupon there is a good chance they will give you a credit/refund. The worst that can happen is they will say no.

My Costco will accept the coupon as long as you do as Chesire Figment suggests. This has happened to me and they gave the dollar amount posted on the coupon and the tax difference.

From the OP, I thought she purchased the laptop before the coupon took effect...she stated she wished she had bought one during the validity period with the coupon and then returned it with the old original receipt (for the laptop she bought in the first place). If I understand that correctly, I don't think Costco will give you the discount.
Good luck though! They are known for their customer service!
 
UPDATE:

I went to Costco and the first supervisor said that he can't even do it, the coupon number isn't in the system any more. He got the manager. The manager said that corporate is cracking down on this, but since I'm a new customer (just joined to purchase this), he will do it as a one time thing. He was very nice, but also made it very clear that it was a one shot courtesy thing.

I was very happy since it was $150 !! I told him that I will continue to shop at Costco and be a satisfied customer.

Thanks Costco! (I debated posting this, since I don't want to encourage it, but I thought I would let everyone know how appreciative I am).
