OT: Do cold remedies like Zicam work??

I've used Zicam this winter and haven't had one cold..... And that is major!!

Never noticed a diminished sense of smell...

Babs

I've used the Zicam swabs several times with luck IF they are used at the first inkling. I really just swab the inside edge of my nose as the instructions say a small fraction of an inch. I use them less than instructed too-like only twice a day. I still have a very heightened sense of smell.

I have used Airborne in the past with good success... if my coworkers (we don't have cubicles, but lined up desks, so we're all exposed) get sick, I'll use it every day....

The last time I felt something coming on (around here everyone has had that high fever, sore throat, chest congestion thing - I WANT NO PART), I got those 10 calorie vitamin waters and also drank OJ. I was just starting to feel the swollen glands and the start of a sore throat, and drank two V waters and some OJ... then the next morning did the same thing... by the following morning all traces of cold were gone!

I'm an Airborne user and swear it works on me every time. Actually, I took some yesterday when I started to feel a sore throat. Today I want to go outdoors and do stuff. I still get all the symptoms of a cold, but they don't make me feel like crap.

DH is a Zicam user and swears that works the best for him. I've tried it and don't like it.

I guess it's the person and what works for them. I just make sure to take Airborne, drink some OJ with Vitamin C and my regular vitamin, drink lots of water and get plenty of sleep at night.

I swear by Zicam. DH likes the dissolvables and I like the chewey tablets. Either way you take it, I've found it really works! It's such a saving grace when I feel a cold coming on.
