quick random question ladies, I know yall will help me! I am considering getting a disney visa, are there any hidden fees? my sis got a credit card once and if had all these hidden things about buying a certain amount during a billing period, it was a joke. anything like that with the visa? thanks! I want to start saving so *maybe* we can go on a one year anniversary trip! (there, i made it relevant to the board! haha):goodvibes

Heather, I have had the Disney Visa since '05. As far as I know, there are NO hidden fees, or any fees for that matter. I've been using it as much as possible to help pay for our disneymoon. Good luck :goodvibes

We've got the Disney Visa and we haven't come across any hidden fees. However, we pay it off in full every month so I don't know how it works if you're making payments. Its been great for getting discounts on Disney stuff and racking up points to use later.

My question is about the Rewards; do they expire? I think they are awarded anually, but can you "bank" or save them?

funny you ask that question today

no there are no hidden fees and no the points do not expire and yes you can use them anywhere.

today we purchased 100 mickey hats for the weding i will explain if anyone wants to know they are 9.95 each after a cast discount and using my moms and my points form the visa we spent only 200 dollars on 100 hats wow i was sosos happy!!!

thank you all so much for the quick replies! we always pay off our cards every month so that wouldn't be a problem. thanks again, i can't wait to sign up! every little bit helps!:woohoo:

Actually the points do expire, but you usually have a couple of years to use them. (Ie: x amount of points will expire in 09) And you can bank them to be used at anytime, you just have to request your rewards card. But keep your card because they will charge you for replacements (learned that a few months ago).

The points in your account have a 5 to 6 year life .To check go to Rewards History and the last line will tell you when your next set of points will expire.

Once you transfer them to a REwards card they expire with the card . There is no way to put them back into your account.

The card normally expries the following year from the date you get in in the month of DEC (if ordered today it should expire 12/08). I have only ordered mine around the June time frame so I'm not really sure about the earlier months.

You can also pick-up a rewards card at the DTD guest services location and call to have the points transfered.

my reward to dollar ratio is horrible. i spent 100 dollars on credit and get $1... count them $1 disney dollar. We remodelled our house on the card and still dont have that much money to play with. We use it but now its almost a joke. We have ever tried to get a better exchange and they wont. :confused3 It sucks to have used them with over $10,000 and all paid off and they wont give you a petter exchange than that!

I know it is not a good rewards ratio. Mine is 1 point for every $100 spent too. I used to have a credit card and got airline rewards but it had a high annual rate and some hidden fees, and I pay off everything monthly too.

We are charging everything wedding related with the Disney Visa though, and have been doing so for the past year or so. In the end, I'll be able to pay for 2 nights at the GF w/ our rewards dollars. Not bad if you ask me :goodvibes We probably won't use the Disney Visa after the wedding though.

I'm so jealous! I'm pretty sure Canadians aren't eligible for the Disney Visa (I remember some griping about it in the Canadian board) and I really wish that I could apply for one.

I'm interested about the incentive ratio - the $1 return for every $100 spent is pretty typical around these parts. Are there better incentives out there in the states?

Heatherlynn -- I'm really hoping that DH and I will get back to Disney for our anniversary as well. It seems so far away though! I guess I'm having Disney withdrawal.

We were also told that once we called them to redeem the points on a "card" (or get the numbers necessary to buy something online" that they then expire so long after that date. I cannot remember but I think its either 1, or 2 years (I know-- thats a big gap- I should get my facts straight). We do use it though-- ours was 0% for a real long time, now it isnt but we still pay off monthly. I do believe, however, that anything Disney is 0% of 9 months or so .... because we paid for our trip on there after the interest had already hit and they said that we could leave it on there for a while because even though our interest was there it didnt count if it was "disney". Not sure about all of that though... dont take me to the bank on it..

We use our Disney Visa to pay for as many of our bills as we can (electric, phone, cable, etc.) - stuff we would have to pay every month, anyway. Then we pay the credit card off in full every month. Even if we only get 50 points between Disney visits, it's still $50 we didn't have before. And all for doing something I have to do anyway - pay bills. :goodvibes

Disney Visa rules...if you need to use a credit card, this would be the one to use, especially if you pay it off every month and use it for stuff that you would normally need to anyways, i.e. grocery store, gas etc.

We bought a precious moments figurine some of our money in September.
