OT - chicago advice

If you go to the Lincoln Park zoo there is also a park district consevatory just left of the main entrance. Sometimes they have special flower exhibits. Doesnt take lots of time but sometimes you will notice things like bananas, coffe & oranges growing. Oh its Free too. If your staying out west there is also the Brookfield zoo which is larger & more varied but they do charge & parking also costs. Have fun.

Southwest does not fly into O'Hare. Is there any reason not to fly into Midway? We are staying downtown. Pros? Cons?

And the big question - who has the best Chicago style pizza within downtown walking distance?

Midway is actually a smaller, much easier airport to deal with. That is my prefrence if I have a choice - Midway is good

Very true! But, somehow it doesn't give you the "feel" like you have "landed" in Chicago...

Travel Zoo has some deals listed for Chicago. Cirque de Soliel SHanghai is at Navy Pier on sale for 10.00. Great show and deal.

Six Flags 27.50 per ticket , buy one get one free. This is located far from Chicago. If you are thinking of doing this, get a room at Gurnee one of the nights rather than try to go back / forth to City.

Also so a listing for a brand new Comfort Suites Hotel , Suite Room with Breakfast for 100 , I think it said ? Also consider bidding on priceline for better rates on rooms. Chicago hotels are cheap right now. Worth shopping to save you $$$

We lived in the burbs on the IN border and would go a few times each summer. The drive (like an hour & 1/2) was totally doable and the city is closer then we were.

Great ideas! We are also heading to Chicago for a long weekend and I am hoping to make it as budget friendly as Chicago can be.
