27th Feb...

It was either that or going for the day for my Birthday.

I can't book till after Christmas but I thought I would have a nosey....I might just buy a AP for us when we go in January.:confused3 :rotfl:

I'm not going to laugh at the AP comment - I'm doing the exact same thing at the moment, because I finish paying for my MSc soon, which gives me some spare money, especially after May.

As I don't get many holidays from work, I've been looking at 1 night stays over weekends and it works out pretty cheap, IF I have an AP.

If i got a AP then all in all with the Eurostar (if the price does not increase) plus P&P tickets would be under £200.

I just don't think I can wait so long between Jan and Sep before I go back.

I don't know what to do.

Its a hard choice and I know what you mean....

Any other opinions from anyone? Please? I really appreciate all the help and guidance you've all given me so far! It's all appreciated!

are you having a theme? think the treehouse would fit in nicely with your green colour scheme..

That's not bad. Prices for me (flying from my local airport) range from about £160 for valentine's weekend to about £220 in high summer, both of which seem a very good price to be honest.

I do too.... But the Pavillion would have more space for people!

if you can afford it, then why not? lets face it 8 month is a long time for you to go without visiting there!!! :rotfl:

Thats not bad, would you stay off or on-site.

I was looking at 1 night stay in July to see the fireworks which is a bit more expensive but could be worth it.

Can you get a bus from DLP to the holiday inn or Kyraid? As I don't want to be getting trains.

That's based on staying off site at the holiday inn, which always seems to come up cheapest when I look on expedia.

All the off-site hotels share a single shuttle bus between the hotels and the parks, so that's perfect for a one night stay really.

The only debate I have really is which type of annual pass to get. Going in january means that the day 2 and 3 black outs aren't a problem as I can just buy and use it for the last day in january, meaning it's all ready to use when I go next. On the other hand though, the extra discounts and no blackout days might be useful (from the Dream), although I'm not convinced I'd spend enough in the shops to get back the difference.

I was thinking of just getting the cheapest AP. Then again the Fantasy could come in handy for a few discounts etc.

Oh i don't know....decisions, decisions, decisions lol.

the magic number for shop discounts is:

400 euros for the Fantasy
450 euros for the Dream

If you spend more than these amounts in the shops, then the upgrade will pay for itself through the shops alone.

I don't think i'll be spending that much in the shops....like ever lol.

Maybe I'll get the Francilien. Least you get money off food with that.

That's probably where I stand as well.

We as a family of 4 probably spend that much over the course of a year. But, I as an individual don't come anywhere near that much. I'm not sure I'd get 90 euros worth of discounts from the other discounts of the dream either, though the EMH and free kir with your meal is quite tempting :lmao:

I keep forgetting the about 10% discount if somebody sponsors you, which takes the cost down a little (80, 115 and 160 euros roughly)

Tell me about it! :lmao:

I love the Alnwick Gardens though and I think we're definately booking our reception there, but don't know which bit?? Its such a hard choice!

The Treehouse looks beautiful, I can just imagine it with flickering little fairy lights, etc ... stunning !!!

We got married at Seaham Hall and I loved it, I would do it again tomorrow

A bit of question but do Alnwick Gardens have a Santa you can go and visit ? We were looking at taking dd to see him at Raby Castle but it's been a while since we last visited Alnwick.

I was thinking it could be cheaper for me to get the Francilien for myself and then just buy Kyra a park ticket as I can't see us going for lots of 1 night stays, maybe just the one. Then again how much is 2 park ticket?

If we go in July the park is open for a lot longer and we can see the fireworks. Then there is the P&P party that i really want to go to aswell.

I don't know what to do. I can live with 3 trips spread out equally over the year lol.

according to DLRP magic, a 2 day park hopper for Kyra would be £65 / €92, so it looks like Kyra would be better off with a Francillien of her very own if you wanted to go more than once...

It's a shame you're only thinking about this now - you could have got a really good deal if you used an AP for September as well :guilty:

I'm not sure. If you look at the calender on the Gardens site it will have a list of the Christmas events... :goodvibes

Well seeing as i can now get Kyra a free AP it seems worthwhile. I have only paid my deposit for September. So maybe if i find a better deal i can cancel or change my booking.

Is the free AP offer just for people wanting to get dream aps?

That's not an offer I'm familiar with as DB is too old for the free annual pass.
