OT: ChaCha

I was getting 3-hour old questions this morning one after the other....weird. Then it slowed down. I only had the system mess up once-and on a tip from ChaCha I opened up a whole new browser to do my search and all my buttons were there and working

The questions I got (that had RH) were hours old too. The blaster one-with a Recent Activity button or no history at all were the ones that got "lost" somehow when it came time to input the information. I had to abort the last one because when I went to validate the answer nothing was on the dashboard. I did send a FB but I hate hitting that abort button.

It probably took two weeks before I had a card and was ready to transfer the money. I faxed in the paperwork and it seemed to take forever. But once you do get your card and pin #, it takes no time at all to transfer your money through the "pay me now" option.

Thanks~ I never got a confirmation or anything and now on my profile page is says to contact the bank and get the 9 digit account number. Maybe I will call later.

OK so I have an account number, I have a debit card, I have a pin number. Why can't I have a pay me now button? ChaCha says it still doesn't have the number from the bank. How long does this process take? The money is spent & bills are due!
How many of us have made the Top Guide list? I did! Although my $50 hasn't showed up in the account either. Anyone know how long that takes?

I've been getting queries all morning. Not non stop or anything, but consistently.

I keep getting "MORE" queries. And several today were from Wikipedia. I can't use that as a source. I ended up copying the stuff and using it so it flowed, but using a different source for the url.

I completed my 3 tests. As soon as I hit the "done" button, a message popped up saying they couldn't use my services at this time. What does that mean? Did I fail? I tried to log back in but is says "suspended" when I try to log in to see if I failed or what?

Yay! I finally got my acceptance email!

So I logged in and my first query was. . .MORE PLEASE. I checked the recent activity and they were looking for directions from El Paso to Monterrey, Mexico. The previous guide got them started but ran out of room and asked if they wanted more. But my directions were different than what she gave and I also did not have enough room to give all the directions! I had to cut them off and ask them if they still wanted more. I took way too long and I am worried I am going to get a QC on my first query!

Someone tell me it will get better!

I haven't heard about it, but I haven't logged into ChaCha for a few days since I was out of town. It seems a little harsh considering when I've counted up the Top Guides it's been less than 1000 guides (between 600 and 700) - seems like they would want to keep more guides than that, but then again, maybe they will be expanding their criteria for Top Guides too. I'll have to go check it out.

I personally think a performance based pay would be great - so long as it works both ways - maybe Top Guides should get 25 or 30 cents a query for the following week! I'm all about positive reinforcement instead of negative reinforcement! Maybe this will help weed out some of the "lazier" guides.

You should have had the same directions if you used the same URL. Did you copy and paste into another screen and click through the previous guides page?

Those aren't so bad. It's when the use a black listed site and you can't use it that it sucks. Or when they make up crap off the top of their head and they ask "MORE" and it's the flipping Chacha homepage.

I was just over there checking out the new pay system. I have to say I think it is a little extreme. Don't get me wrong..I agree they need to do something about some of the guides accuracy but one of the new things are if you do not submit at least 300 searches a week you are cut down to .10. There are a lot of good guides out there that just have enough time to do a couple hundred searches a week. I don't think they should be penalized. Oh well, you knew it was going to change at some point. At least each week they start new and you can try for top guide again. So at least you get the slate wipe clean.

This really has me steamed. Last week I didn't make top guide and I have no idea why! It makes me wonder if it's a way to get people to quit, too! With the number of searches I did I would've had to have something like 25 bad answers to not have 95% accuracy, and there's absolutley NO WAY that is the case! The week before I had 100% accuracy! And I've never received a QC email, either If I don't make top guide again, I probably will quit. I'm certainly not going to spend 10 minutes figuring out how many stacked dollar bills it takes to get to the moon--only to get 10 cents???

I too think that 300 searches to qualify is too much. That is up from 250 from before. I work and go to school fulltime and only went on when I can. 300 searches will be pushing it for some weeks and .10 is not worth it.

I got the e-mail but I couldn't log on for some reason so I didn't know what it was! Thanks for posting this. Are they going up on the prices for those who are top guides?

So much for the log in whenever you want and work as much or as little as you want. It won't be worth it at only ten cents. I guess they are trying to get rid of us who only wanted to make a little extra cash a month. Oh well it was fun while it lasted.

Wow, I don't like the new system. I have only done one week and was wondering if I will ever even get to .20 (didn't make top guides), now I am wondering if I need to be happy with my .15. It's frustrating, as I work hard on each text, see lousy answers and know that I didn't have 95% accuracy. I think it is subjective as to your accuracy, as they don't explain it to you. I think a lot of people hired at .15 might be there for quite a while.

I'm just now seeing this. I'm not pleased about this at all. I've been a guide for a month and haven't made top guide yet. I'm not sure why either. I've done over 2000 answers, haven't received a single QC email and know almost all of my response have been right on. So the thought of making only .10 each is crap. But on the flip side, considering some of the answers I've seen from other guides that were awful, I understand it. But makes me not want to bother doing it if it takes me 3 or 4 minutes to find an answer and I only make 10 cents!

So I just started last week. I haven't hit my 1000 searches yet and didn't make Top Guide (not sure what qualifies for that). So all the searches I did last week are they going to take away .5 for every one? I am confused and you can't get onto the forum or anything.

I'm bummed about the whole thing.

I think it's terrible. I won't do this for 10 cents.

I've only made top guide 1 week and I really don't know why. I'll bet every cent I've made that my answers are accurate!

What a shame.
