I agree completely about bad answers and it being rediculous. I just started with ChaCha this week and am very excited about making enough to finish paying for our trip in Nov.

I sent in 3 questions just to see how others answer and they were all TOTALLY WRONG! I asked where can you eat with Cinderella at WDW and was told "high atop the Contemporary at Callifornia Grill!!!!". Then I asked what were the most popular character meals at WDW and was told "Epcot, it's pricier but well worth it!!!". Come on people! Finally I asked what are the value resorts on WDW property and was told "The Raddison has the best rates." Can you believe that junk. I quit asking after that. If guides keep replying like this, we won't have a job for long!

Is there a bonus for top guide? I haven't been doing it enough to get top guide yet (bummer!).

I've gotten a huge amount "black" questions.. you know, racist kinds. I'm so tired of those kind of questions.

They're asking customers to give feedback. You can always reply FB (insert feedback here). That will flag the people giving wrong answers.

How do you do this? I see horrible answers in the history all the time, it drives me nuts.

You can text FB with nothing else or FB BAD or FB WOW if it's good.

I was doing a little experiment this morning to see how many guides read history and it wasn't pretty. I explained I wanted to play "this or that." I'd send 2 choices, they would answer, and send me 2 choices back and we'd try to keep it going.

Out of 10 messages, only 3 did it. The rest didn't read history or understand what was going on.

I've seen similar things in the past. An IS wanted to do a back and forth story. Only a few guides played along. The rest didn't read the history and either asked for clarification or told the IS that they had to ask a question.

Well I did my simulator test last night and I am just dying to hear back. I have read it can be up to 3 weeks before you hear anything...that's a long time to wait!!

For those of you who are now guides, how long did it take for you personally to hear back about your results?

Took them a little less than a week for me. I came in just as the pay switch was starting though, so that may be why. Just be patient- though it's hard knowing you can be earning money!

That surprises me. I swear about 30% of my queries are a continuation of something. So I ALWAYS read history. I might not go back 24 hours, but I always read the last 5-10 queries from the IS.

I've gotten an awful lot of Wiki references lately. Earlier today someone typed MORE to an earlier query and when I looked it up it was a very new guide using Wiki. I couldn't really quote wiki since it's on the black list. I easily found another reference to what they were talking about and used that.

YorkieMommyKandis- It took me about 2 days to hear back IIRC. Not terribly long, really. Felt longer though when you're waiting.

I actually reported a horribly inappropriate answer that I saw in the Recent Activity through Feedback, and they sent me a thank you email saying they were taking action plus gave the following instructions for us guides who see bad answers.

"ChaCha now has a new way of submitting feedback for Inaccurate SMS Responses. Instead of going through the KnowledgeBase, you should go to the home page at ChaCha.com and click on the About Us section and then click on Contact, or you may use the link below. There you may submit your feedback as normal and chose Customer Relations as your category. Your feedback will then go to the appropriate department for review. http://info.chacha.com/Contact/tabid/58/Default.aspx "

If you see that a guide has answered badly, copy the link and paste it into the Message box on the Contact Us page. Hope this helps!

I took the sim test on a Friday afternoon and heard back the following Monday afternoon.

I finished my sim test on Monday and I was accepted as a guide. I am very excited and starting answering questions yesterday. I have gotten some really silly questions, but am taking it all in stride!

I JUST GOT HIRED! I am so excited! It took them less than 24 hours to let me know but it felt like forever...I don't think I could have waited the up to 3 weeks without going crazy. Now I just have to earn some money while waiting for September 2 when we leave for WDW!!!

For those of you who are doing voice transcription...how did you opt to do that? I almost think that might earn me more money because I type crazy fast (I am trained to do transcription as a medical transcriptionist).

Congrats to those just hired!!

I took the Sim this morning, but I had a boat load of technical issues. I'll really be surprised if I get hired.

Congrats:party:
I've been reading this thread for a week and was really interested.

I took the plunge this morning and submitted an application. I just got my invitation an hour ago. I'm kinda scared:scared: but I am glad that there is a group here. Ya'll really are another good source of ChaCha information and assistance.

Any "hints" before I take the first test?

Make sure you send them some feedback on the issue and let them know so they don't count it against you! My sim test was horrible because I kept getting booted off the system in the middle of questions and the page would freeze up on me.

Sent you a PM.

I just did the tests and am completing the W9. I keep getting an error that there is a problem with submitted my W9. It says the Social Security # already exists and to click the link to contact ChaCha support but when I click the support link it says "page not found". Anyone have any suggestions on what I should do?
