OT: ChaCha

You get all kinds of questions from wanting to know the scores of a current Basketball or baseball game, location of a restaurant or hotel, some are just "chatting" type questions like "did you see _____ movie". You do get some questions that are more difficult to find. It is pretty fun. You don't make a lot, but I figure any extra is extra for our vacations!

okay I need to download the fire fox.. 1. how do I get the older version the only choice is v.3 and that won't work..
2. can I still run my IE program as well for the rest of the family and only use firefox for cha cha... I have to set this up so I can do the simiulator test..
I have been working on this for 2 hrs now and I am getting fustrated.
thanks for the help.

Yes, you can get Firefox for just ChaCha and still use IE for other things. I'm really not sure on how to download an earlier version on Firefox though.

I just finished the simulator test a few minutes ago - it was actually kind of fun. I did 16 questions as I thought I had lost count... :rolleyes1 The "hardest" question I had was someone asking for directions and it took a lot of creative abbreviating to fit the answer into the 160 character limit! How do you handle answers that can't possibly be answered without more space?

I got most of them done in under 3 minutes but two of them took 5 minutes so I was pretty happy with that. They came right after one another so the whole test took less than an hour. :woohoo:

Can't wait to see what they say! I wouldn't mind making a few dollars while I'm here surfing after putting the little ones to bed. :thumbsup2 Even if it's only $50/month or so, that's money I didn't have before ChaCha and is almost a tank of gas! :lmao:

Now I'm worried I didn't answer my questions well enough. I completed 15 questions in 18 minutes, they came one right after the other. I used 1-2 sentences and did a cut paste from the webpage I linked to but "kimmed" it up some.

But I am a documentation analyst in real life, maybe that job has taught me how to scan boring things really quick? :rotfl:

I just got up to $50! So excited! I started one week ago. I only planned on $25 a week($5 a day or so) but Sat really got my numbers up!

How does the debit card thing work. they mail you a debit card and you can withdraw cash?? Has anyone gone through their bank?

How long was it after you took your simulator test that you got your email telling you you passed?

Took mine last night, not too sure how I did!

How many posts do you all average in an hour? I hope to work 10 hours a week and add it to my furniture fund :)

has anyone not been selected after doing the simulator test? it seems to me that they wouldn't need all that info before the simulator test if it wasn't guarenteed after passing the fitness tests. so just curious.

1. I took the simulator on Saturday evening and got my acceptance email on Tuesday.

2. I don't know about working 10 hours per week - it really depends on the traffic. Of course, I've only been doing it for 2 days, so how much do I know!?! ;)

What I've been doing is just logging into ChaCha whenever I'm online surfing or whatever. If questions pop up, I answer them and if not, I'm otherwise occupied anyway. I was pretty steady late last night and even earlier this morning, but I've been on for about an hour now this afternoon and I've only had 2 questions. I hear that the weekend nights can be pretty steady/busy so I'm hoping for that.

I'm shooting for $5 a day - I figured that'd be $140 a month and should give us about $500 for trip in October!

3. I signed up for the debit card, but it takes up to 2 weeks to get it. I am assuming it is just like a regular ATM/debit card, but I don't know if it has a Visa/Mastercard logo.

Happy ChaCha-ing to all!

How do you even get to the simulator test?? I filled out my initial info - name and email address yesterday and submitted it and haven't seen anything since. Do they send you a link to the test? Maybe I didn't dazzle them enough with why I thought I would be a good host - I only wrote a sentence or two. :confused3

Within a day of my initial application I got an email with an "invitation" to become a guide. There are then 3 steps:

1. Initial registration - consists of 3 different short tests (typing, searching, a quiz about ChaCha I think). If you "pass" these tests, you move on to take the simulator test.

2. Simulator test - they suggest you read through their training materials prior to doing the simulator. This is the last "test" you have to do.

3. Acceptance as a guide - upon passing the simulator, you will be accepted as a guide.

If you haven't heard anything back, I would guess that perhaps they just have a lot of new applications, maybe give it a day or two. Good luck!

I have found that more than the 20 cents, I'm learning a lot myself!

Assuming I pass my Sim. test, I'm not sure which payout option I would choose.

I like the idea of the Debit Card; but to pay a $2 fee everytime you transfer money seems kind of high to me (that's 10 ChaCha answers! LOL!)

Really, that's a 2% fee on a $100 balance; An 8% fee on a $25 balance. That's too high for me.

so i shouldn't worry if i haven't heard back from chacha yet? i submitted my application yesterday evening (about 7 p.m.-ish?) and nothing so far. i wish i'd done it sooner!

I took the sim test last night and just got word I'm a guide. So it can be pretty quick, keep checking your email!

thanks :) i'm keeping an eye out for it. congratulations on your acceptance!

Thanks for the head up! I went and checked and, sure enough, there was an acceptance email from ChaCha, too. I'm in! Yeah!!!:cool1:

I hope you can all help me as I try to get going on this.

I just answered 15 questions but it never said "this is your simulator exam". They never did have the history button so I know they were from HQ. Any ideas?
