Hey everyone... I got my invite to become a guide but click on the link and I keep getting an error message that the page fails...

Any ideas?

Thats exactly what happened to me about 2 weeks ago and for the life of me could not figure out how to get around it. So here I sit and read how much money everyone is making and I can't even get to the first test!

I am a sahm looking to make some $$. This looks interesting. I just have a couple of questions if someone wouldnt mind answering them since they have probably been asked before.
I am wondering if they require personal info like your social sec #? I havent worked in so long, I dont remember what is on a w9. If they do, is it secure?
I dont think i would attach anything to my bank card. As far as their debit card, is it just that... a plain ole debit card with the amount you make on it that can be used anywhere?
What if you just plain ole cant find an answer to a question?

They ask for your social security # because you need to declare anything you make as income. As an independent contractor you are responsible for paying any taxes owed since ChaCha does not take out anything. If you make over $600 ChaCha will mail you the appropriate tax form at the end of the year. I sent my SS# and I get paid monthly via direct deposit. I haven't had a problem yet. I believe the debit card can be used anywhere, but every time you hit the pay me now button, ChaCha charges you $2.00.

Yeah, the link still doesn't work for me this morning. I've tried to copy and paste the link in a new window and everything else I can think of - but, it still doesn't work. Anyone have any ideas what I should do?

If ChaCha is introducing auto-answers, then will they pay guides more per question since they're taking away the questions that are easy to answer? If all my questions are obsolete facts that take forever to find, there's no point in doing it!

Speaking of auto-answers, I thought they were just to the obvious questions, like what's my name? or How are you? I noticed just now in the history of a question, someone asking lots about toy poodles...every answer was auto, w/ detailed info about the poodles...and each ended in "COKE ZERO."

I'm a little annoyed that those questions were getting auto answered, and now curious about the COKE ZERO...is that how they get advertising $? I've had a couple people ask why that was there, & I don't know...would be nice if they let their guides know what was going on??

Could it be that they are building up a database based on previous guide's answers that way they will need less and less guides over time? That way they would be able to place product ads in the auto-answers, thus saving and making money at the same time.

Ok, I take part of that back. I just got another question from the dog guy, and my answer didn't have the usual www.chacha.com/jkjasdkjhasjf;lkj at the end...just TEXT M FOR MORE. COKE ZERO.

So, it wasn't an auto answer....but we can't follow the old guides link this way? Anyone know another way?

They just posted a news bulletin about the coke zero, people in a certain zip code will get an ad, and then the short url for their question.
I thought part of the appeal of chacha was getting a real live person? Half the questions or histories I have say something about it being "real" people. If they start getting computer-generated answers it won't be as appealing!

It wasn't there. I don't remember where, maybe we could text chacha lol. It said they were working on auto answers for some of the easier questions, and then I saw in a history something like type W and your zip for weather, with more "shortcuts" rolling out soon.

Anyone else answer their family's question in a complete sentence and then say "thanks for using chacha?"

I am so bummed to hear about the "auto" answers. I was really excited about the chance to make this extra money and I feel like the opportunity is already slipping away.
