Cat, try logging in and looking at your profile. Mine just changed to "fully trained" and I started getting question but I never did receive an email saying I was accepted. Not even in my Spam folder. I'm making $ and I'm getting the high volume alerts and the vote for the text of the week emails so I know I was approved but I never got the email.

I wonder what keyword I picked that I have had 5 queries now that are nothing but the word ****** (if the filter gets it, the anatomical name for female genitalia). I look at history and there is nothing there or nothing that would explain a query just with that word. I use dictionary.com and send them the definition of ******. I've been tempted to link to the ****** monologues page though.

I work for a few hours in the morning and then again at night. Pretty much when I feel like it. Some nights I take off. Yesterday I made really good money so I stopped early. You get better money at night so that is when I am doing it. But I am home and bored all day so I work then too. This is allowing me to stay home with DS (12yrs/aspergers). We had trouble finding a day care and decided I would quit my job and stay home for the summer. Boyfriend works as a civilian for the Dept of the Navy, so good money. He was up there in rank when his contract ended with the Navy and he went straight into the civilian job. Same job too, just better pay. He got bored one night while I was chacha-ing and decided to try. He made it and has been working for the last week. I work around 7 days BUT I work in my living room. I stop when we want to watch tv or a movie. Some nights I stay up really late because the money is good. Sometimes when it is slow I log off. If it is too slow I just won't do it. BUT like I said...boyfriend pays the bills and still has money left over. DS is in private school too. We can afford for me to do this. If at any time we can't, I will do this only part time and go back to working in the real world. but for now I like being home and I like that I can take a vacation just because. no boss to approve it. there are benefits.

How long have you been doing it and about how much do you average a month? You're doing the same thing I want to do. I hope I passed my sim test.

I have been doing this since June 18th. So not long. I wasn't actually expecting to work this summer, then I saw this thread. LOL. I am averaging around 200-300 a week, depending on how dedicated I am to working. Like I said grocery and blow money. Tonight I won't work much. Big Brother is on! so I have to watch tv. But I might get on after. I also have a text message sent when they have high volume. So if I am not on and money is good I will know. I average between $25 and $50 a day. some days I just don't feel like working. so I don't. gotta love that! The way I am looking at it is we have all our bills paid, savings, and a small amount left over. We spend around 300-350 a month in groceries so that is all I really need to make. anything beyond that is cake. Oh and the best part...I have had the same 1/2 tank of gas in my car for the last month. I just don't have to drive that much anymore. I was spending close to 50 a week in gas just going to work and back and I have a small car with really good gas mileage!

Aww, Cathryn Rose, I'm sorry! Sometimes I really wonder what their guidelines are.

From what I've read, you can't retake the test, but they're supposed to have other opportunities opening up. Not sure what they are.

I'm sorry, CathrynRose. You know I wonder if they are cutting off accepting new guides right now. I know someone else who just got a "no" from them too and she is also a net savvy person with good communication skills so I was surprised to hear that. They just announced a new "apprentice" pay scale for new guides where they will be paid 15 cents per question until they have either been a guide for 30 days or have answered 1000 questions. At that point ChaCha would review their performance and decide if they qualify to move on to a full guide and get 20 cents per question. The new policy takes effect on 7/17 and they say if you are "in" by 7/16 at 11:59 PM then this rule won't apply to you. Maybe they are holding off because of that?

Could you maybe email and ask if you can take it again because they were having system problems at the time you took it?

Do you have your keywords set? Go to the myaccount tab and click on the keywords there. You should be able to put 50 in and that should help. If you have them in place then idk why you dont get any questions.

DisneyFan06 - even though Im *not* a guide (harumph!) I read that you should clear your cookies out, before starting. Then log out and back in - and you should start getting them.

Now, if I was a guide, I'd know exactly how to get questions.... no, I'm not bitter. Why do you say that?

Words like - directions, jokes, weather, scores - very basic / general to get the most hits.

I still dont know - I'll never know!!! That question will go to the grave with me, knowing I missed an amazing opportunity because Dr Joyce Brothers has some quack medicine thoughts about the number 79 and women!!!!

Sheesh! What a question! I did some googling (not using Search Universe b/c often times if I can't find it in SU I can in google) and I found this:

That took a good 15 minutes of searching and even on that page I had to search for "79 times"

That web site was THE ONLY thing google pulled up with that search and I didn't see it in other searches trying to find that random fact.

I would be questioning how reasonable that is for a simulator question!
