OT: ChaCha

There is a thread on chacha about it. I am trying to enter somethng in every category.

Oh and another thing that gets me is all the religious questions and people blatantly stating their religious beliefs in responses. It's really not cool. I'd be kind of ticked off if someone did that to me.

I've been asked if I am Jewish or what my personal beliefs are. I simply answer the question: no, I'm not Jewish and I am a Christian. Sometimes I'm asked who Jesus is, and I answer with a definition: In Christianity, Jesus is considered to be the 2nd person of the Trinity and the Son of God. While this could be considered stating my beliefs, I don't think it would be offensive in any way-I'm answering their question, not preaching from the pulpit!

I hope this type of answering wasn't what you were referring to. I can see how if someone got on their soapbox about any subject (not just religion) it would be offensive.

I found this website that explains the origin of the phase "You're welcome." When I get a "question" where someone is thanking me, I tell them they're welcome, and to text again soon . . . . and use this site: http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/654233

Don't know if it's one of those prohibited (by ChaCha) sites, but I haven't gotten dinged for using it.

Answerbag is definitely on the black list, so you should probably find a different link.

I don't know what's up with the whole keyword system. I had like 10 that were Disney related (before I knew to make them broader) and never once got a Disney question. Now I just have one Disney keyword and I've gotten quite a few. :confused3

I keep gettin asked if there were any others Oscar winners who were dead when they won. Anyone know the answer or where to find it? I keep giving interesting Oscar facts as answers. Thanks!

This is for the newbies wanting to sign up at Cha Cha. Please sign up under someone so they can get the referral . If you don't have someone PM me and I will give you my email address. With everyone looking to sign up there is great opportunity to make extra $$ with teams.

I'd be happy to have someone on my team too! Anyone wanting to can PM me as well & I'll give you my email address. :-) Wish I could've done it for someone when I signed up, but who knew?

Which website do you use as a link when you answer a question like that?

Oh no, not at all! That's exactly how it should be answered. I'm atheist so the last thing I want to hear is that I'm going to hell or that god is almighty or whatever. IMO a definition of whatever they are asking for (where applicable, of course) is how you should answer it. If I asked who is Jesus, that's how I'd expect it to be answered. On the flip side, I'd never say or suggest that someone who believes is foolish or whatever. I've gotten a few atheist questions (b/c it's one of my keywords I think) and I just state what atheism is and that faith or lack of faith is an entirely personal choice and that only they can decide what is right for them.

this is what I found, but it from some guy's site:
Posthumous Oscar Winners:
Sidney Howard, for the screenplay of Gone With The Wind (1939)
Peter Finch, Best Actor, Network (1976)

I would try to find a better link to use it for ChaCha

Curious....

What payment option did you guys choose? - and why?

I chose the pay me now. I really like the idea of being paid whenever I want to be. But unlike you guys, I am actually using this as a full time job! I quit my job right before my disney trip last month. Boyfriend  pays the mortgage and all household bills. I pay for groceries and misc stuff. You know the I need to see that movie while it is still in the movie theater. OR (like right now) I found a really good price on a room at disney (completely by accident) and we have AP's so this is grocery/disney money right now. And Boyfriend is doing this now too and so we are making double. Well he only does it for an hour or two at night after work. He has a real job that pays the bills. For him this is just fun. LOL...He has made $130 in the last week though. So really not bad when you think about it.

Which website do you use as a link when you answer a question like that?

Usually, I use an encyclopedia or dictionary type website. I've also used Biography.com. If the question is Jewish, I find a Jewish website, Catholic, a Catholic one, other Christian, other Christian one. I really don't have one that I go to, I just make sure it's not on the forbidden list! :)

Oh good! I thought that's what you meant! :thumbsup2 I feel the same way-if someone asked me a question about being an atheist, I'd try to answer in the same matter of fact way.

Any long time chacha guides here? I mean from like a year ago? I was a guide back in the beginning and stopped doing it last March(2007) or so. The system now is completely, completely different. If I want to start up again, I'll need to practice a little before I get live people....how can I do that? Also, I have a zillion keywords if I look at my profile in the underground but when I log on as a guide, there's somewhere else that wants me to choose words and none of the ones from the other place are there...I'm a little confused as to how you're supposed to pick the words and which words are the ones that count? Can somebody give me a little help?

< ---- Still waiting for the acceptance from the SIM *sigh*

I'm getting NOI-VUSS!!!!

That's incredible! How many hours/day do you ChaCha? Your BF?

Ok, so I'm updating my keywords, but many of them are nonsense! Some of them aren't even words! What the heck? How am I supposed to choose 50 of them? And where do they get these?

Hi guys! I took my simulator test Sunday afternoon and was accepted as a guide yesterday  So far I've made $7, and while it's not a lot, I now know what a hookah lounge is, and that a black-eyed susan is really just a daisy. :lmao:

ITA on the keywords--I don't get it?? The categories, though, I think I figured out, and it must be working because many of my questions (such as "where do babies come from"--got that twice!) seem to be related to what I picked.
