OT: ChaCha

I have been available for 3 hours and I have had only one question. And the question was "why is chacha failing?"

No way, really? Wow, that's too bad.

I love the work from home idea. I wish I could find something else similiar.

I accidentally left ChaCha on overnight. I just woke up and saw that it was still sitting at "available." Not one single question in the 9 hours I slept!!!
I used to be B2B all the time. Maybe they figure everyone wants money for Christmas and they couldn't afford to pay out so much.

I have had the most success setting myself to away in the afternoon and then when I am ready to work at night I get questions. Whne you are gone for a while or even logged in without questions - click on profile on the main page to make sure you are still logged in - I have found sometimes I think I am logged in but I had really timed out.

traffic sucks...all these people on the forums bragging about how doing your categories a certain way guarantees back to back queries is CRAP! this is the worst chacha day i've EVER had and i spent from 10:30 pm sunday night to almost 5:30 am monday morning fixing them as other guides told me to. what sucks is, the others in the group with me who redid theirs at the same time are all b2b. i'm telling you, i'm TICKED.

Do you think ChaCha started slowing down when they started the 20 question limit. It was OK for a bit, but seemed to dwindle...

I can think of many other possible reasons, too.

I'm just very disappointed.

If all those people were truely b2b, they wouldn't have time to post. I seem to have a 10 minute spurt of b2b every half hour or so in the morning. I am one question about every 10 minutes in the evening.
All of my questions are specialist & relate to pizza in one way or another. I think it is a ChaCha problem & has nothing to do with catagories & interests. I don't even have pizza listed as an interest. I am on a gluten & casein free diet! LOL! How I became the 411 pizza queen, I will never know, but I am happy to have some questions at a steady rate.
I think the 20 question limit is to blame. (Along with the poor service lately.) I see nothing but unanswered questions & "why don't you answer me" in the history. Teens have a limited attention span.
The automatic answers are terrible too. I had an IS this morning get an answer that said something along the lines of "her question wasn't very good to ask another question." She was asking for the nearest pizza place to her location.

That's what adds insult to injury in my opinion. Knowing I've done everything that I can do, everything that the others have done, and yet still not getting anything. Then having to read how some guides are back to back. It doesn't make sense.

I finally stopped reading the forums and logging in at all. It was all raising my blood pressure too much! LOL I'm just staying away for now. If that gives more questions to some other guide, then so be it. But seeing as how I wasn't getting any, I doubt it.

I think the 20 question limit put a big kink in the system. Not because people aren't asking as much but because it made the whole system buggy. You have people asking questions and never getting an answer all while we sit and wait for a question.

What works for one person will not for another. It seems so random to me.
Some people say stay logged in, works for some and not others.
Some say to fiddle with categories, works for some and not others.

What has it been a month or longer since the system has worked.

I've tried the "stay logged on all day but set to away" trick. Around 1pm I set it to available. A few minutes later I received my 1st question in days. I answered it, then went to close the extra tabs....and accidently closed the Universe!!!!!!! D'oh!!!

So, I'm starting over!

The last night the system really worked for me was election night. I have been buggy or begging for questions since. I think the only thing that helped to improve the amount of questions I got was going from from my laptop to my desktop. My desktop doesn't have vista. My work computer & my laptop can't seem to get along with the newest changes ChaCha has done lately & both run vista. I can't accept specialist questions on either of them. I wonder if that could be contributing to the problem?
Instead, I leave my daughter in the room with the computer watching TV. She gets me after accepting the question, without her I can't get anything done.

My friend send me an email a little while ago to tell me how dissatisfied with them she is as an IS. She has been sending in questions and not getting answers. I wish I had an answer for her.

There is supposed to be a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT today according to the ChaCha forum. Let's hope it means they found a fix for this problem!

I sent in three questions through their website yesterday after learning that you don't have to have them sent to a cell phone. As of this morning, they still aren't answered. I even tried one keyword one to see if that would go through.

The last time I had good traffic was Thanksgiving and the day after. I lucked out and was stuck with "mall" as the interest that worked. Now I'm back to barely anything except Will Ferrell. And not enough people ask Will Ferrell questions to keep me busy!

I haven't posted here in a while because I've been so discouraged with ChaCha! It was so nice this summer -- I made around $1500 and it really came in handy. But I don't know how much longer I can stay with them when I can't get more than 30-40 questions in a week. It would be different if they'd at least communicate with us and say, "Hey, we're having some technical issues and we just can't seem to get them straightened out." But instead, we get these lame and vague blog posts telling us nothing.

Even then it wouldn't be SUCH a kick in the teeth, but you have other guides who are having no problems whatsoever.

So what gives??? I'd love go hear an answer from them.
