Tickets orginally 10 but theres processing fees and so such that come out to 215

Not up where I am! I work for the court system, and when someone gets a $10 seatbelt violation, that is all they pay..$10!

My DH got a seatbelt violation last summer. The ticket was $25, but court costs of $120, so $145 total. I would imagine that might be where the difference is in your case also.

I still don't understand in your case how they were given seatbelt tickets if they were wearing seatbelts. What was the reasoning?

That is what I don't understand either.

My husband said that when the officer approached them, he asked why they weren't wearing seat belts. My husband responded we are wearing seat belts, and the officer told him he was lying as he touched his shoulder (pointing at him as he was stating my husband was lying).

This is SOOO frustrating. We faxed a not guilty plea to the court today, and now just have to hope we don't get a failure to appear ticket...it just seems to be the way this particular court system in Texas works (even though the judge hasn't been there one day since they received the ticket).

AHHHH! Well, now I guess we just wait and see.

I know when my DD was in an accident out of town, she received a ticket that we were able to get dismissed by proving to the District Attorney in that county that we had paid for the repairs for the other car.

My point being that we dealt with the District Attorney's office in getting the ticket dropped, maybe that would be an option for you since you have not had any luck contacting the Judge in the case.

In Maryland you can be pulled over for not wearing your seatbelt. Also if your passenger is not wearing a seatbelt they can pull you over and ticket the driver.
